From daylight until 9 am we shot 276 hogs. Lot of them here.
What is the best bait for feral hogs?
I am using sour corn with jell-o or sour food waste.

They will be back. It may take awhile but the frequency will increase over time. Once you have feral hogs you have them for all time.
Haven't seen em or had any damage since 2016. Rumor has it we have some coyotes hanging round but i haven't caught one on camera or seen one. Neighbor has so maybe that is keeping the hogs run off.

Everyone likes their trap best. That’s ok. It takes all kinds to combat the hog problem.

One statement is spot on. People add to the problem by releasing hogs and transporting hogs to release. Don’t ever do that. There are enough and always will be.
I'm willing to deal with hogs that have been made trap wise by poor proceedures and sorry traps but releasing hogs to hunt stick's in my craw "UNLESS" they are behind fences that contain them. Many jurisdictions have laws that forbid transporting live feral hogs but crooks hire lawyers when ticketed. It's difficult to prove to the standard of law whether a hog is feral or domestic eventhough it's easy to tell the difference. Lawyers that take such case is no better than his scum client.

We put water on corn and let it sour. Then hang the bucket on a limb up head high or so. Then sprinkle corn on the ground leading into trap. Keep putting new corn out for several days. We have a 60' diameter trap with two drop doors. Game camera with live video feed. Text operated gate closer. Catch 20 to 30 at a time. We leave a marine battery to run video and closer.

I'll give you a top answer. I'm not a drinker, but them son of a guns might love them some beer. Which is kinda what you're making with the corn. Another fella goes by the doughnut shops and gets their old stale things for the pigs.

I doubt feral hogs are “runoff” by coyotes. Hogs travel as part of their routine. They will be back or others will come in. Just a matter of time.
Man is the only natural predator of feral hogs in the US.

I am aware of a case years ago where a guy from Texas took a cattle trailer full of hogs to Indiana or somewhere and turned them loose. He’s probably not the only one.
Transporting hogs except to a slaughter house is illegal in Texas. Don’t ever do it. They are never allowed to leave my traps alive.

If you want to know what hogs like to eat,,
watch the TV series "DEADWOOD",,.

The Chinese guy, Mr. Wu, "feeds" his hogs about every third episode,,

Just wondering how are you handling the captured hogs?

buried them? or processed for bacon?

Unfortunately, I had to bury them because couldn't find any person for processing the hogs
