In Norway the pure ICE market share was 8.4 % gas and diesel, 4.4% gas and 4% diesel.

For hybrids with charging, the share was 20,8% and the rest conventional hybrids.
Does Norway report the % of vehicles that have zero emissions. in 2035 California will only allow vehicles to be sold that have zero emissions. All hybrids are disallowed.

Pure EVs have 65% market share, hydrogen vehicles are so few that they don't count.

Vehicle tax will make hybrids expensive, and the range limit for charge hybrids is increased every year, and for 2022 I do believe hybrids are entering the death spiral here in Norway. They make no economical sense, just a very complex car with very short EV range and not particularly good fuel economy, a super efficient diesel beats them.

Just set the car to charge to 80%. It's in the software.
Perhaps that is so simple you missed my point?

What Tesla says is 80% SOC is not necessarily what Nissan says it is, is not necessarily what Rivan says it is. There is no unified standard, spec, or agreement. Each implementer defines 100% at a level they are comfortable staking their reputation. At odds for more range with smaller battery or longer life?

I don't think superchargers are available for home use.
Elon is a Capitalist. If you really want one he will find a way.

People forget for a time Tesla was fielding “Urban Superchargers” of “only” 70 kW. The idea was to field something easier to install than the 150 kW 2-stall version 2 Supercharger. Probably a number if these 70 kW units in Tesla warehouses looking for a home (I punned!).

Catch-22: expect the 70 kW Supercharger requires 480 volt service. Superchargers output 360-400 VDC.

I thought in the U.S. we define ICE as any engine that runs on gasoline and do not consider hybrids as an EV.
Is the new definition any vehicle that can run partially on electricity.

They are fudging with definitions. From the above link:
"These statistics do count conventional hybrids as “electrified” – somewhat of a strange designation, since they still get 100% of their energy from gasoline – but all of the top vehicles can run at least partially on electricity. And conventional hybrids make up less than 10% of new car sales anyway."

Please define an EV in the United States. Does it include Hybrids that get 100% of their energy from gasoline?

About 2007 truth twisters convinced legislators in one state (Arizona?) that a Toyota Prius was half electric and therefore qualified for half of the state’s favorable tax treatment of EVs.

You are correct in observing the Prius gets 100% of its motive force from gasoline. Same for other hybrids.

Today there are a number of PHEV, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, capable of 10-40 miles on pure battery. But that battery charge could be sourced from gasoline or the power grid.

Further evidence of the fallacy of letting government pick winners and losers. Creative forces in the marketplace will find ways to take advantage other than the intended way.

Boo hoo hoo. A Tesla Model Y in Camp Mode (look it up) consumes about 1 kWh per hour. Or about 4 miles of range per hour.

Nothing better to be stuck 24 hours on interstate in a snow storm than a Tesla.
