Hooks on FEL Bucket

Center for light weight, two in-line with the loader arms for the heavier loads
The two in line with the loader arms are used in conjunction to spread the load
We keep an 8' chain to hook on each corner and that always puts load on the corners. Never even tried a center hook. Last thing I loaded was a 14' disc that an oil field man wanted to use. Used two tractors and backed the trailer under it. I do have a hitch ball in the center of one for moving goose neck trailers. Sometimes we have a couple sets of scaffolding on a trailer with people on it working. Easier to negotiate that way.

The back to back hooks confused me a bit. The only thing I could think to do with it right off the bat was shorten a piece of chain. Which is apparently what it does! But I don't know if i'd make any use of it if i already had chain hooks on my bucket (which i do, on one at least). I guess its just more universal because it can go with the rest of the chain wherever you use it, unlike bucket hooks. But anyday i learn anything about rigging is a good one because im bound to do enough of it yet in my life that every trick i learn will eventually be made use of.

Something that is useful that some scoff at is back to back hooks...

That's what I use. I have 2 that store perfectly on the loader arm. 9 links of 5/16 chain hooks on the flat steel on the bucket top

Reminds me of this:

I use a old set it passenger car tire chains to act as a "chain cradle" coupled with regular chains to hold really odd shaped objects ....

EDITED FOR CLARITY: I use the set of old tire chains to cradle/basket large awkward objects in stead of a single chain around around object as shown in picture....

No I mean the 2 hooks connected end to end, the guy in the vid uses them on his Kubota with the curled-back upper lip of the bucket. I guess that's how Fladogman up there uses them.

You're right, the MX bucket has a big flat iron top for extra support, they clip on and hold nicely. I was concerned about them sliding but haven't experienced them doing so. It's nice not having those hooks to grab limbs when clearing land. My dad welded hooks on his bucket and they grab vines and limbs.

Do the L and BX models have a reenforced top on the bucket? If not this method may no be a good option

And you misinterpreted my post about using tire chain as a cradle.

As far as the bx, I don't think so. That's why personally I'd be real careful doing this if I had one of those, only them for lightweight stuff. I got a massey ferguson, I got hooks on the bucket but never snagged anything on them which I didn't want to.
