I feel fortunate. I have had a couple time where someone has dumped furniture on the side of the road that borders my property. A call to the county and they come clean it up.

Once I caught a concrete truck beginning to clean out by the side of the road on my property. I read him the riot act and made them come out and clean it up. The driver didn't seem to comprehend that the days of just dumping anywhere you want are over. I told him to go clean out on the property that he just unloaded on.

A family downstate owned several thousand acres of land. They finally had to gate their roads because people were leaving dumptruck loads of demolition debris as well as emptying tanker trucks full of waste oil on their land.

I once had trespassers that would park and fish on my posted land.
They stopped after they had flat tires 3 times in a row!

OK, I was a nice guy as I only deflated one tire via the valve as I'm am not the destructive type.
They got the hint!

We had the Sheriff come by same day, we're trying to get the county to pick up these piles of infested crap. We can't take it to the container site 1/2 from us, that would be a $1000 fine. And the landfill is 30 miles from my house, so 60 miles at 13mpg. I'll let them sit there until spring if I have to.

Had a three time trespasser (written warnings the first two times) loose the cores out of four valve stems, pre cell phone days, miles from any public phones. Long walk...by the time the got out of the woods the one auto parts place in town was closed. They never cut our fence or came back again.

My property is adjacent to a Corp of Engineers lake. Out walking one morning and from a distance, noticed suspicious activity.

When I got there, the truck had left...and there was a new pile of trash. I saw where they went and actually found the truck parked at a house in the local town.

Googled and found the CoE Lake Supervisor, who I called and gave details, all while continuing on my 3 mile walk.

Instant justice...they had the guy in less than an hour after he dumped it.

The Super emailed me the next day with a "Thanks" and said the individual had confessed and it had come to a successful conclusion.

There's nothing lower than illegal trash dumpers and litter bug scum!

it happens everywhere. I have a guy behind me that has a 20 ft easement to his place.
He decided on his own to put a barbed wire fence / post up across the front of my property.

I called him and asked why he put the fence across the front of my property.
He said to keep people from coming on his property by way of my property !

He never ask about putting this fence up.
I went to my property last week and took the fence down.
I haven't heard anything from him to date !

We once had what might be called the village scum or low life.
Always in trouble and well known to 'borrow' or 'find' things that he did not own.

Well he did an actual B & E and 'borrowed' a quantity of a clients tools. (the client had all receipts and S/N's).

Well come court time client and I were supeena'd to testify.
Client absolutely could not attend due to a cross country commitment so he risk fines and or jail but I did go to testify.

Perp plead guilty claiming alcohol and a dare to commit the crime, and naturally some tears.
He was simply cautioned to avoid that bar for 30 days and let off free.

I on the other hand was paid a measly $4.50 for my 1/2 day based on mileage and not time lost.
(They based distance on the closest extremes of the 2 municipalities but I lived on the outer extreme and the court was also similarly located. In effect I used probably $14.50 worth of gas.)

They simply said my testimony was not needed, sorry.

Some would say you're not paying enough taxes to support your justice system, but I thought you paid more taxes up there.

This is my single biggest complaint about the south, the number of lazy good for nothing idiots that dump their trash on roadways. Everything from tossing their fast food bag out the window, to bags of households trash, to TV's, couches and mattresses. It is the lowest form of human that does that in my opinion.

You should see the larger cities on the west coast . . . homeless and trash abound.

Yeah, we have that around here as well. It is sad and those people could care less about littering when they are fighting for survival. But it still disgusts me when I see it.

What you don't see out west is trash along some of the most beautiful stretches of creeks and rivers like you see here. It is different out there I promise.
