Bad Dogs Bad Neighbor

Drive by their house at night and throw out sponges soaked in bacon grease. Dogs try to eat them and choke to death. I have no use for a mean dog. The 26 year old? Hood, gloves, and patience.
I wish those kind of thoughts would be kept private and if possible, surpressed in favor of more civilized solutions.

Here is the big question I have for the OP...

Are these idiot neighbors local to the area, or are they those dang relocated city folk? Everyone knows how REAL country folk respect their neighbors and are right neighborly 😁

Honestly, city or country, you will always have idiots.

Have you tried just talking to them and see if you can come up with a mutual agreement they leave you alone you leave them alone?

We had a run in with the people down the road 1/2 mile or so because they would not restrain their 2 large dogs. The kids or wife or myself go for a walk ride a bike etc. and the dogs chase and growl and scare the kids. Neighbors were not interested in keeping their dogs restrained. After the NYSP intervened we have just avoided walking that way if the dogs are out. Now the son 26 years old has been vandalizing our mailbox for a year or more. Leaves used condoms, liquor bottles full of urine and the latest party trick bags of feces. I have him on film and video and have filed a report with NY state police so far nothing has happened and the SOB just did it again on Sunday in broad daylight. I am looking for ideas for non-lethal ways to deter this scum bag until the cops can do something to help. I also filed an online claim with the postal service. Very frustrating and annoying.
If you have video of him messing with the mailbox, contact the Postal Inspectors. Most people don't know this but, USPS has a uniformed Postal Police Service to deal with postal crime. Messing with a mailbox as you describe is a federal crime. At a minimum, they'll come have a conversation with him, which will probably stop that part at least.

Put a big ass snake in your mailbox see how he likes that.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Don't spend money on lawyers, etc. You don't even have to involve the local LEOs. You have a Federal Government organization at your disposal.

Report this to the United States Postal Service. The mailbox is technically controlled by USPS. Start at your Regional USPS office. If they hesitate to assist, ask for their Superior's information and contact them. You won't have to elevate this very far to get results. USPS will push prosecution.

Let us know how this works out. People are the nastiest specie on Planet Earth.

I've been on the opposite end of that spectrum. Dude owned the property down the street for years. Let his dog go wherever and refused to take responsibility for it.

Even after being told that if it comes onto the property again and heads for our 2yo grandson acting aggressive we would be forced to shoot it.

Sent the police down to talk to them. Other neighbors talked to them.

A couple people visiting us took him to court over damages that his dog did to there cars on our property.

I ended up putting the dog down. Got dragged into court over it.

Dude acted like a self riotous pr#ck after it happened. Balling and couldn't believe that his dog got shot.

Well, when people are telling you your dogs going onto other people property and going after kids and damaging vehicles, what do you expect???

I won the court case but it was a royal PITA.

They put the ordinance into effect shortly after our court case. It gives home owners more options as well as forcing pet owners to take responsibility for their animals. As well as holding said pet owners liable.
