Mahindra 5155 Anyone?

Nothing to worry about at all. If you plan to keep the tractor outside I would just smear some grease on your PTO shaft to keep it from rusting. I don’t think anyone actually uses those covers once they take them off for the first time. How do you like the new tractor so far? Any observations for the rest of us new owners?

Yes, I have noticed it needs some grease. It does not stay out in the sun but it is open to the elements under a three sided carport.

I honestly do not have any negatives. I’m five hours away from my fist 50 hour service. The tractor certainly has more power than I’m willing to use at the moment. I have pushed a few small mesquite trees over with no issues… I’m too scared to use it as a bulldozer though.

I'm north of Corpus Christi TX, my dealer "Diamond B Tractors & Equipment" has my 5145 and is putting the 3rd function on as we type. love to hear anything you have to say about the new 5100 series, not much info out there about them yet. I have more than a few Mesquites and a ton of Wesach that have Tooo Gooo!

Oh yes, we are fighting the same battles. Fortunately, I do not have to fight huisache. I’m close to Waco,Tx. I went through Pineco tractor and equipment. So far, I have been pleased with their communication and willingness to answer questions.

To deal with those plants you may need a grapple. There are many out there. I got mine from Wallace Attachments in Florida. Well made, strong and designed to tackle many tasks that more specialized grapples (rock, root, etc.) could have trouble with. Am very pleased with mine used mostly for forestry work in NM.

Will someone take a photo of their PTO shaft housing? I removed my cutter and I noticed three bolts sticking out unprotected. I’m wondering if something fell off or not. I circled the bolts in red in the attached photo. Yes, I know everything is a little dirty at the moment.

Those bolts held a plastic guard on over the pto shaft to protect it in shipping. Mine still had the plastic cover on it when it was delivered, that's how I know why they are there.

MY 5145 was delivered yesterday, I took the afternoon off to play. It now has 3 hours on it. It developed a small hydraulic leak on the 3rd function line at the bucket. I tightened a fitting and it stopped. So far the tractor has exceeding my expectations in every way. 4 inch huisache does not stand a chance against the grapple. The dealer quoted $800.00 for the 50 hr service, but that is with them picking up the tractor, a lot of money but from what I hear the 50hr is a PITA. does anyone have opinion on the cost of the 50 hr?

BTW my dealer pointed out the plastic PTO cover to me telling me that they had removed it and scraped off the paint then replaced the cover.

I re use my cover if iam not using the PTO I slap it right back on.
