My trench/brook finally dried up to just mud, no running water.

We had so much rain it took 22 days to drain from the top of the hill.

I talk to my western friends and they are scorched.

We have a burn warning out now and had some brush fires across the river.

So this is spring ??

Ken, I thought about taking down a dead locust tree behind my house, but didn’t. I have another dead elm up near the corner of my property, the bark is starting to fall from it. I’m gonna let it go on it’s own.

Didn’t get the oil changed today in Subaru. Need to change ZT oil also.

Thanks Buppies. Wish I could move my house to S. VA. it will be hard moving from here. I built everything.

He was lonely and looking for a wild turkey, but all that we had was Bud Lite.

While we were there a stinging caterpillar dropped down from a tree and stung my wife. After some Benadryl and an hour, the fire sting diminished. I have never seen one like it before, it was 2" long, brown and spiney. She was in too big of a hurry to get it off her I did not get a pic.
I've seen some brown ones, but not with multiple spines.....maybe a "kink" near the front end and back end of the worm. But mostly we see the little green stinging worms, which are prevalent right now. Sounds like a bad bite. Makes me wish for a cabbed tractor.

My friend has his "new to him" 2012 Massey Ferguson 2670 split apart right now. Bought it at an auction, knowing reverse was out..If only it was a couple of gears and a shaft...It has an Eaton 8x8 Brazilian made transmission. He only has the transmission apart right now, and the parts are over $5000. He intends to pull the rear differential apart next and is guessing maybe another $3000 in parts. More later as I find out.

Free EGO mower update. I did not do much tinkering, but did take it apart to inspect a number of wires, but did not find anything suspect. I put the stuff back together and plugged in a battery, and it fired up, but only for a maybe a minute, then flashed the amber light like it has too much load. From what I could find online, this is a documented symptom, but nobody has put forth a 100% fix other than possibly just needing a better battery. I was thinking that possibly a better battery might make it work, and asked the extremely kind individual if I could maybe just borrow a known good battery for just a one time test....Well, the extremely kind individual dropped off some other batteries, that are in better shape. And now it will run for maybe 10 minutes on each. But I found some perfect uses for it. I can trim around the home/garden/trees with it, and even better yet, use the bagger attachment and put the fresh green clippings in my compost pile. I'm back in the compost business again!!! What a great thing, a recycled, electric mower, contributing to my compost pile! But, if the kind people who gave it to me want it back, they can have it back since it seems to be working fine now. Oh, and I used it for another task, with the bag, I vacuumed up the red tip photinia dead leaves that are falling right now. Thank you kind people.

Speaking of dried red tip photinia leaves, I don't put them on the compost. They are like JET FUEL on a fire, so I put them in my burn pile. They burn fierce like dry juniper cedar branches.

Popgadget, nice rendition of "F"d up. Isn't it funny how many names a pet like that can pick up over their lives.

Really nice hiking pictures wing. Your energy level is amazing.

Drew, sounds like you're trying to overdo it. Please be careful.

Mowed with the Steiner Beast today, maybe about 4 acres. It really mows nicely. Then, on the Deere little tractor, I took off the boxblade and put on the shredder. It must have dull blades, because it couldn't touch the quality of cut compared to the Beast.

The garden is doing well. The bush green beans are sprouting up after Monday's 1.4" rain. Tomatoes are silver dollar sized now. White onions are nearly ready to pick. Potatoes have their first flowers. Zucchini seem to have outgrown the aphid infestation.

Mostly, hope the dog spray works well. I hate when dog's come after me on a bike.

It got up to 90+F today, and very humid. Looks like some small showers are popping up late now. I hope we can get more rain.

Prayers for the sick, for our country, and for Ukraine.

Good afternoon. Lovely night with a low of 12C, 0.3mm of rain in the gauge and some wind. Overcast. High of 20C but the wind chill makes it more 17C.

The woman who agists her two horses took one, early this Sunday morning, to help muster some cattle over in Pyengana... which means that the remaining little black mare is pining for her paddock-mate.

If all goes well tomorrow, I'll chain-harrow and then mulch (with the Z-turn) Paddock 6.

Take care all.

Good morning, low temp was 37 and going to a high of 63°F. Wind E 9 mph.Mainly sunny!

I got the implements out of the field that I want to convert to 3 point. The drag disks came out in two pieces, so I will use the front half and use the pans on the rear half as spares. The 'V' plow is set up for the welder guy to do his thing with, as is the back blade.
The trailer is loaded for the dump run today. After that I will flip it upside down and take a good look at the frame.
I may have to buy a welder and do it myself.

Got a phone call from the people that are selling me the Z-turn. It is in their shop getting put together and I should see it by Wednesday.

Time to see if I am a millionaire. Not likely, but a couple of million would be nice right about now.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
39 going to 73 today in warming weather, sun and clouds
bit sore this morning, no surprise
off to church and my zoom czar won't be there to help, it's all on me to turn all the switches on. I did it once before, should be ok.
We have a microphone system running through a separate mixer jacked into the pc, think I'll turn that on last.

Ken, remind me please where and when your son's car wash is. Might be able to swing by after church. I'll be near Newtown anyway and that will save me coming home
and doing it myself this afternoon.

when I bought the Makita chain saw it came in a package with two 5ah batteries and a big double battery charger, latest model.
That was working hard as was my other charger but everything should
be charged back up now. Sure is nice to carry four or five batteries and be able to exchange them easily among tools. Now if they could only make those battery packs lighter.
I use the 3amp one instead of the 5 on my drill. Leaf blower is the real hog, uses up juice way faster than shrub trimmer or weedeater. It's only the single battery model; they have a larger double battery one but I wanted the lighter weight unit. It still has plenty of power for what I use it for.

RS, have you always been an avid gardener or did you get bit by the bug? You have done amazing things with that property, must be a real delight to look out and see things you planted bloom.
Or at least still be there and not munched...

look at those tomatoes, Kyle I'm envious.

Roy, how are you feeling?
Pretty good, actually!
No angina in several days

Thanks for asking!!

Since I'm posting...while working in the garage, I really had to acknowledge I'm not only a packrat, I'm an impulse buyer as well. Actually, I've known both for years. I really need to have a garage sale!
