You can weigh round bales with it:

Xfaxman,

If you lower the boom to horizontal and run the boom all the way to its extent, What is the length from the front of the machine ( not the boom pivot point ) to the end of the boom without any attachment on it?
What weight can it lift if you have 12 feet extended out in front of machine?

I don't want three machines. The Kubota is fine for moving logs, bush hogging, and doing little forklift jobs. It's no good for removing stumps and rocks, digging, and knocking trees over.

I guess those are the three jobs I would really like to do. I don't have to move machine tools every day.
Those things call for an x. They are so good because they don't do much else. Skid for grading moving stuff. X for digging. Tractor for mowing.

If you can own all three, if not sort from 1 to 3, buy one first, then 2, rent 3.

Best,

ed

It is 16" from the front of the tire, to the front of the SSQA plate.
The inner boom slides out 66", so it would be 82" to the front of the SSQA plate from the front of the tires.

12 feet would be 62" added on the SSQA plate.

This is what I have pictures of:
Without the bucket and the boom fully extended, at 15 degrees, it took 3943 lbs to raise the back wheels off the ground.

If you need to know exactly I can put the stump bucket on and measure it at 12 feet

Thanks. I was curious about its specs at full extension since I am trying to get better handle on what the M59 can do and you have a load cell and a good understanding of what your machine can do.

I have a Kubota supplied graph of lift capacity but it is couched with a SAE J31 spec that kinda of muddies the water about what its true capacity is at full extension at at multiple angles both left and right swift and at elevations below and above horizontal. I also don't know what its lift capability is when boom and dipper are closer to the machine.

I am buying a load cell based upon seeing your in use. Very helpful in solving my above quest for info. Thanks.

Appreciate the info.

Having both, I use my skidsteer around my property considerably more than the excavator. The skidsteer is more versatile, you can move things faster over a distance. Some rental yards will rent out just attachments, you could always rent a stump grinder for the skidsteer to deal with the stumps. Mowing with the skidsteer is a game changer as well. Absolutely love both machines but definitely would opt for a skidsteer for property maintenance.

The more I look at TLB's, the more I like them. Not sure why they fell into disfavor.

Suburban Plowboy,

Now I think you understand why I wrote comment #5 and rScotty, who also owns a M59TLB, wrote comment #24. The larger TLBs have sufficient weight and horsepower that they can make very good use of the larger more productive implements and that give them the ability to do many things well. There will always be projects where an excavator or skid steer or track hoe or telehandler is preferred BUT a tractor is a wonderful multi-purpose tool.

I am guessing that is about half the size of the one above.

I have a 5k crane scale. Tried to measure lift power, but the scale goes to overflow if over 5001 pounds:
The Kubota will lift 1500 pounds, and I had to drag this rock. It's as long as a small couch.

The shovel is almost four feet long.

I think I misunderstood the meaning of "TLB." I thought it just meant "backhoe," but it apparently means a tractor with an attachment.

I started looking for backhoes for sale, and the loaders were not the SSQA-ready gadgets I expected.
