I own it but only so far. Certainly towers eventually could go on mountains ruining views. People should be able doing what they want on their property but I respect my neighbors. When I built horse stable I wanted it fairly close to house but not so it would interfere with our closest neighbors view.
That's the point.
We have view easements in my general area.

Yep, everyone with their own solar and then we get lots of large scale solar everything is just fine as long as the sun is constant.
Once there is sufficient solar that conventional plants have to be on hot standby to handle the dips and surges to maintain the infrastructure as needed what a nightmare that is going to be. With conventional plants having to ram up and down rapidly to compensate for other none steady or stable soruces, brown outs like we have never seen, power fluctuations all over the interconnected grid. All these so called "green" states with their green energy relying on a missive out of state grid to maintain a stable utility for them.
Maybe you don't understand how solar works, which might explain your position. You either store it in batteries, or you do net metering.
Maybe educate on the subject before you start blowing smoke...

I’ve seen all sorts of reasons people didn’t want wind farms or solar farms through my work. The noise, shadow flicker etc. If they are built correctly none of that is an issue. Amazingly my opinion is the biggest drawback is having to look at them, but for some reason people don’t want to say they are ugly, like that isn’t a legitimate complaint.

I read somewhere that when rural electric went in people thought all those power poles and lines were the ugliest thing ever. Now we don’t even think about it.
I hate power lines with a passion.
The most picturesque towns are made ugly by them, and I deliberately avoid taking pictures with them.
Bury them. May be more costly up-front, but especially in norcal it's way cheaper in the long run.

We loose far more farmland every year due to city people moving to the country because they want that "quite rural life".
One thing not discussed is population growth. The worlds population grows at about 67 million per year. That being said, people are moving EVERYWHERE. More are moving to cities so cities have to grow and take over farm land. Some chose not to live in cities so country life is getting more crowded too. As long as the human race continues to multiply, the planet will get more densely populated. More people means we need more energy, fuel, food, and housing. The question is...which one of those needs are we going to run out of first?

I’d like to have 50% more.

This was a good month

Many solar farms going up around me. Some taking up good farm land, but apparently not good enough to be better for the owners than solar! Good for them.

My in-laws are in negotiations for a solar lease on their 1,000+ acres. Hopefully it works out for them. They are getting older.

I had a 10.75w system. 52 panels, produced 15M+ a year for 9 years, then we sold home. I used to track and create spreadsheets with all the data. I miss those days...

That little installation wouldn't need any big towers.
They sight these systems in close proximity to 3 phase power lines that are close to existing transformer sub stations.
And feed into the grid from there.
Funny thing is, the new substations in my area have gone in 2 to 3 years before the large Megawatt solar installations are built. Planning for the future new renewable capacity before it ever got permitted. How convenient!

Well by golly and gee wizz I did as you said to and it sure looked like your picture!!!!

Net metering is only on residential grid tied homes.
Most locations do not allow batteries on grid tied systems, just for your information.
Large scale solar power systems are directly grid tied and feed back into the grid.
So mayhaps you should follow your own advice before you start popping off.

What locations do not allow for grid tied battery systems? Is this a locality thing or state?

/ Fighting 'Solar Farm' Installation #173
I should have worded it as net metering residential systems are not allowed to have batteries by most utiities. If not grid tied for net metering they likely wouldn't know.

I never said grid tied battery systems. There was an "or" between them. English 101 starts next week...

It's a misnomer that we have gotten used to. just like;
gravy train
Fox News
buffalo wings
ladybug
Call it what you will but the bottom line is it’s their property and as long as they meet the law, shouldn’t they be able to use it as they want?

This is the view from my back porch. Imagine if it became the second picture?View attachment 794117View attachment 794118
Imagine all you want....

IF you want your view to remain the same....BUY THE LAND.

This is the fundamental mentality difference between the two sides to this issue....

Some people buy land and expect that the view beyond their boundaries will never change. Others accept the fact that they have no control on what happens beyond their own land.

Would a superimposed Walmart or amazon distribution center make the view any better? Or what about a chicken farm?

The same could be asked about trailer parks.
Maybe instead of solar farms for neighbors....trailer parks would be better for those complaining??

The US birth rate is now less than 2 children per couple.
