You didn't buy it in order to bronze it did you? I have to assume that you bought it to work, and work it will.
Just like the first time I took out my new canoe!

I just wanted everyone to know I put it right to work šŸ˜Ž

Nice rig!

one of the biggest items for choosing the Kubota is that the dealer (full Kubota dealer, not just a lawnmower guy) is about 6 miles drive from our house. Every other make is over an hour (and up to three) away.

I could walk there in two hours…

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.5C and it's presently 18.8C, sunny and calm. Practically a repeat of yesterday.

It's 'into town' day for mail & groceries... so at least I'll get off my arse and do something. ;)

That's about it, take care all.

54F and "Fair" @ 22:00, heading down to around 44F for the low tonight. High hit 71.1F here today.

Appointment with accountant went well, in and out in just under 30 minutes. Turned out much better than we were expecting ... :giggle:

Finally able to file electronically again ... which means the return will get processed a whole lot faster ... (y)

Enjoyable ride to and from, out in the country.

After we got home Woman cooked up some fried egg sandwiches and bacon which said needed to be cooked.

After that I went over and retrieved the Cub and dump cart out of the barn and brought it over to the house.

After that I checked the gear oil in the front axle on the B2910 (doesn't currently appear to be leaking, need to recheck tomorrow) then headed up to the shop to tighten up that loose hydraulic fitting which stopped the drip.

Then came back down to the house and loaded up compostables and cat litter and took that up to the pile.

Grabbed a bucket of screened compost while I was up there and brought it back down.

Woman was changing into work clothes while I did that and She was out weeding the west peach tree by the time I got back. We worked on that together for a while and then I moved over to working on weeding the 1st burning bush:

IMG_2556 copy.jpg

She got the peach tree mostly done:

IMG_2563 copy.jpg

Both the peach trees are looking pretty good at this point but we really need to feed them and hopefully they will really take off. Probably add some more screened compost around them as well.

After She finished with the peach tree, She came over and worked on the 2nd burning bush while I finished up the first:

IMG_2557 copy.jpg

She found some nice worms while She was doing that:

IMG_2559 copy.jpg

It was kind of cool and breezy out, especially when we were in the shade.

After I was done weeding the first one, I tilled up the soil with the B&D 20v cordless cultivator and raked it out:

IMG_2558 copy.jpg

Then added some additional screened compost:

IMG_2566 copy.jpg

These will get some day lilies planted around them once we have the beds all prepped, just need to decide which ones:

The typical orange ones, the yellow Stella D'Oro's, or the yellow and maroon ones.

My choice would be the latter, mainly cause they need to be moved from where they are currently (next to the garage) and are in the way of removing some other stuff (large blue-green hosta) that needs moved as well.

After working on the burning bushes we headed up and started weeding around the Japanese Flowering Cherry "Kwanzan":

And the Red Maple that we also planted last year.

Just finished up dinner.

Plan to work on a Menards order and hopefully get that placed and then maybe head up to the shop and see if I can't get those wings welded on the grapple.

Or not.

Hope everyone had a great Tuesday ... (y)

YAY! NEW TOY!

That I don’t know how to run…. But at least I didn’t break anything or hurt anyone.

Nice machine ... (y)

I think i will paint the track levers red and green, as well as the visible portions of the frame near the idlers and drive motors, until I get the hang of operating in a 360° machine.

You'll probably pick up on the controls fairly quickly.

I've found Kubota mini's a breeze to operate ... to the point that I probably wouldn't even consider a different brand.

One thing to watch and be careful of, is having a full bucket (with wet, heavy material) ... with the boom extended ... and then rotating.

Especially on an incline.

Those tracks are longer than they are wide ... so smaller footprint to the sides ... ;)

Typically, when digging on an incline I'd dig as you're doing there: dig towards the uphill side.

But I'd normally position the blade on the downhill side ... and use it to level the machine out flat, with respect to the incline.

Otherwise, on flat ground, I'd have the blade on the side I'm digging on ... and down of course.

Enjoy the seat time ... (y)

Check out the price on a new M62. I just went on the Kubota website and built one, nothing crazy, 1 loader bucket, one 24ā€ backhoe bucket quick attach and remote hydraulics. $98k.
I feel like I just won the jackpot!

FWIW, I just sold my smaller flail mower I purchased in 2016 for $2800, including shipping, for $2500. I used it for maybe four seasons, which amounted to mowing five acres of grass once each season. I replaced the hammers once for a cost of about $500. That mower is currently unavailable, and at the time, the next least expensive flail I could find was $4K. I'm wondering if Asian manufacturing is still suffering workforce and materials shortages, and demand is still far outpacing supply.

Sounds like sphincter clinch #348 on the backhoe. Made the mistake of parking sideways across the slope and swinging a full bucket downhill. The upside wheels lifted and only stopped when the bucket hit the ground. Fortunately I had enough sense to keep the bucket low to begin with.
