The rider would not start this afternoon, but the mouse debris is gone, the wiring harness is intact, the battery took and held its charge, the spark plugs look to be in decent shape, and fuel pump seems to be working so it looks like the fuel and/or fuel lines and filters are in need of some attention.
Maybe ground line needs some shining?
If safety seat switch try unplugging than replug.
Maybe fuel filter clog?

It is difficult to find a safe disposal for dead rats after removal from the electronic trap. Don't want to put them in the rubbish bin and worried the dogs will find them if I just throw them out somewhere. Solution. I have a drop system on my drone. Fly about 400 meters over the bush away from home. Might hit a Russian on the head if I'm lucky. :)

Thomas- Yep. I need to rule out everything. I do have a spare fuel filter around here somewhere. Probably my fuel stabilizing additive gelled.😱

Looks like Wagtail and Alien have a good choice... ;)

Psilocybin or magic mushrooms are naturally occurring and are consumed for their hallucinogenic effects.

There are many different types of magic mushrooms. The most common ones in Australia are called golden tops, blue meanies and liberty caps.3 Magic mushrooms look similar to poisonous mushrooms that can cause a person to become very sick and can result in death.
<snert> I wouldn't know... heck, I need to be told if there's any codeine in a tablet or cold medicine or I go 'weird'. Even a whiff of marijuana turns my stomach.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.5C and it's presently 15.3C, sunny and calm. I love the quiet of an early morning when I can hear a soft, dull 'roar' in the distance. When I lived in various Big Smokes that sound would be that of traffic... out here, I know that it's the sound of surf from the East. :)

Successful run into town yesterday and, after returning, I got stuck into clearing a wattle branch that had broken and died, entangling itself amongst its neighbouring tree.

An early text from the "Mad Agisting Horse Woman" requesting a paddock shift early tomorrow arvo.

That's about it, take care all.

That was the plan for today so I took a break and watched the bird wars over the suet cake.
Do you have spark at the plugs? Will it run momentarily on starting fluid

60F and clear @ 21:45, heading down to around 47F for the low in the overnight.

Made a little forward progress today.

Got front yard mowed:

IMG_2571 copy.jpg

Woman came out towards the end of that and started weeding around the east peach tree. She got that all done:

IMG_2572 copy.jpg

But wasn't entirely happy with it ... for some reason which I couldn't pry out of of Her ...

While She was working on that I ran down to Eddie's real quick for some mealworms. Got one of the feeders from the basement after I got back, dusted some worms with calcium, and went out and got it put up and loaded it with 20 mealworms, relatively close to the occupied bluebird nest box:

IMG_2568 copy.jpg

Just before I borrowed the Cub to go do that She was done on the peach tree ... so we collected up Her tools and equipment and brought them up to the house.

After I finished with putting up the bluebird feeder I dropped the dump cart at the house and went over to the barn and grabbed the Chapin tow-behind spreader and brought it over to the house and dropped it there.

Then I hooked up the dump cart to the Cub and loaded up a rake and the Stihl blower and went up to the compost pile and cleaned off the Cub.

Came in the house once that was done. Woman suggest baked beans and cold chicken sandwiches for dinner ... which was fine with me ... (y)

After dinner I told Her that I was planning on heading down to Menards to pick up the order and asked if She wanted to come along and She said "Sure, might as well ..."

Made the run down there and got loaded up fairly quickly with no issues except that they were completely out of one item: the pelletized lime.

Guy went back inside after we loaded up, said he was going to check when it might be in. Came back and said about three weeks.

So while he was in checking on it, I checked on the Menards app, I got a message saying they were completely out of it: no stores had any in stock ...

That seemed kind of odd ...

I just checked here after getting home with a web browser on the desktop and both the Kent and Cuyahoga Falls (closest to me) show "in stock".

Weird.

At any rate, it might be a sign that the rear brakes on the Sprinter will getting done tomorrow ... rather than liming the yard.

Probably a good thing ... ;)

Some pictures of the dogwoods here, which are now in bloom:

Hope everyone had a good Wednesday ... (y)

Good news at Sophie’s ophthalmologist, swelling down, vision improved to 20/50. Drops looking to be a long term treatment, back next month.

Breakfast was very good. I had a platter called “moco saurus” (Don, don’t read) Bed of fried rice, fried chicken filet, hamburger patty, 2 slices spam, kailua pork, topped with brown gravy and 2 fried eggs. Their take on the Hawaiian Loco Moco. I hardly eat more than 1/3 and the rest comes home for the boys. Sophie got a bacon cheeseburger omelet which comes with hash browns and 2 plate sized pancakes which we share but never finish. The furry boys will each get 3, maybe 4 breakfasts from what we brought home. Pre pandemic we ate there most Friday mornings before hitting Safeway.

Did make some progress on the flail. Current thinking is too just bypass the damaged mount point for now and use the upper set. Looks like I can use the PTO shaft from rototiller without modification. Of course this could mean the damaged mount never gets fixed.

Relaxing in Hot tub this afternoon particularly relaxing.

Kyle-From the internet:

"Common side effects
  • Feeling dizzy. If losartan makes you feel dizzy when you stand up, try getting up very slowly or stay sitting down until you feel better. ...
  • Headaches. Make sure you rest, and drink plenty of fluids. ...
  • Feeling sick (nausea) ...
  • Being sick (vomiting) ...
  • Diarrhoea. ...
  • Pain in your joints or muscles."
Statin medications can also mess with one's joints and muscles.
Thanks J. No statins here yet.
I take Losartan and some other pills to manage my BP. Dosage adjustment is key to getting over the side affects. I will NOT ever take statins again, almost had permanent issues from them and took quite a while to recover.

Be well,
thanks.
43°F and clear skies this morning, got up to 65° today. Windy. Again. Been so for several days now. Stirred up some dust from a plowed field up near Springfield yesterday and contributed to a massive 72 vehicle pile up on I-55. Six fatalities, I heard.

Finally got the pasture mowed Saturday, but the wind kept pelting me with the clippings, so I abandoned any hope of finishing. Sunday was cooler and windier, but The Wife and I got a little planting done nonetheless; four new raspberry bushes, and two new blueberry bushes. Also gave me the gumption to finally remove the three stumps of the deceased blueberry bushes. Somewhat productive weekend.

Hope everyone is well.

Good evening, gents.
I've killed 2 blueberry bushes, well the 2nd one has a slight amount of green leaves coming out this spring, but looks about 90% dead. I put peat moss under the 2nd one hoping to give it a chance. a little better than the 1st one that lasted about 6-8 months.
Good evening all. 47ºF for the start, mostly clear, light breeze. Light wind , Sky partly cloudy, and high temp was 80ºF. Getting into more normal temps. some rain in 10 day. Got bike ride in no problems today. Started to mow lawn after lunch, got half way through front and engine on mower locked up :( Will need to have it mowed if I cant find replacement soon. Did get nap in and grilled brats to drown sorrows.
Hope you get a motor with a correct shaft size, for a good price. Everything is too high.
I wanted to tell you thank you for keeping my daughter in your prayers. She is in a good place right now, just had her prom with a "good" guy for a boy friend for 5 months now. She had initially signed up for junior college, but a state website that gives approx costing for all the state colleges showed she could get far more financial aid at the big college. But when we found out, it was too late to get her registered for this fall semester. So, she will sit out a semester and try to make/save some money for a car. Then hopefully start next spring of 24.
Jay, our President of our company had a background in behavioral science and he changed a lot of processes to reflect that. A big departure from his dad and grandfathers approach. He is now retired after buying a 270 acres ranch at Montecito, Santa Barbara and letting his son run the company.
A guy told me his wife had a BS in BS once. I told him she was still his boss.
Lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury are all natural. . .
So is lithium. (used for head cases)...Nice mini ex, I was going to joke that you could let some air out of the tracks. :)

RNG, glad to hear the home repairs are finally moving forward. Guess the Vanagon needs a fuel pump? (assuming you can't hear it whirring?)

Been trying to catch up here. I get about 3-5 days behind, then find that I only have time to read about 1 days worth per day.

Busy at work, our seniors are graduating and leaving us. sad. Tried to get a couple to stay and work on graduate studies, but they are tired of school right now and want to pay off some debt. Got free luncheon today as the school paid the senior students back a meal's worth of money. Award ceremonies were good.

Haaaaappy belated birthdays to Frits and Ron's son.

We've had a few inches of rain in the last few weeks. More to come later this week. Things are green, weeds are growing.

Prayers for LS1, Buppies, Drew, and others in need, our country, and Ukraine.

Where's PJS?

Coffee finished brewing. 45° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with plenty of sunshine. Got weed killer sprayed around house, garage and raised gardens yesterday. Still have more to do. Got grass mowed and trimmed. Loaded last of neighbors skids of bricks of bricks on buyers trailer. Grocery shopping this morning. If wind is down will spray some more weed killer.

good morning all
looks like a warm day throughout the East, going to be 81 here too in full sun.
still waking up, coffee going down nicely

RS, your place looks great.
I'm interested in your steering wheel Z turn. Are you still happy with it?
you're pretty flat there, so the advantages of front steering on mower on slopes not needed
I wonder if those front tires will wear out fairly quickly
overall seems like a great invention, and if power steering, even better.

no plans for today other than school board finance committee zoom late this afternoon.
May go out and clean up the expired tulips.
never grown tulips like this before, just dead head them?
ok, looked it up on Google. Pull the bulbs out? Nope, not that energetic.
top them off? this I can do. And they say don't water that area over summer; must be concerned over bulb rot.

another strawberry munched by birds. Guess I've got to get some netting put down or I'm not going to get any.
