We can burn tree and brush twice a year ( spring and fall) dependent on weather. Only material from the property. No wood waste or off property debris. This keeps the commercial waste companies from burning on rural lands. I would never burn the table saw scraps in my brush pile fires. 😉
Yea right , LOL....that's funny stuff...you better be careful the Chinese balloons flying all over North America might get a picture of you destroying the enviroment.

We just received our burn permit .

Good for the next 365 days .View attachment 801680
Only certain communities require a burn permit around here.

The only time no burning is allowed in my county is if there is a burn ban in effect due to drought conditions.

Townships require burn permits so they can collect fines from those who don’t get permits.

Most of the camping sites in Middle Tennessee are either owned by the State of TN or the US Army Corp. of Engineers. They both require firewood to be certified heat treated. This is supposed to help stop the spread of the emerald ash borer which they claim is being spread by the movement of firewood. Firewood Policy

You aren't even allowed to move firewood from counties where the borer is present into other counties where they supposedly aren't present yet based on a statewide list.
They did that here. It didn't stop the borer. They'll get it eventually. No firewood was moved around here, so I don't know how it made it, but all of the ash trees are dead.

The USDA requires that all pallets be treated to prevent the spread of pests. In the past it was common to treat them with methyl bromide, which is nasty stuff, you don't want to be burning it. There is now a heat treating process that is chemical free.
Too bad, pallets make great fire starters for brush.

Same here. Dead Ash trees being removed is like an entirely new industry.

I burn in the winter - if needed. Always a concern for late summer/fall wildfires. I have created a rather large pit. I pile dead trees and limbs there. Mostly stuff that has died from Pine Bark beetle. I only burn trees - nothing else.

I live on my 80 acres - out in the middle of thousands of acres of range land.

Need a burn permit for anything not considered firewood.
So now all my wood slash and stumps are firewood, they go in a firepit
My firepit is also portable, cinder blocks and shows up around the wood I need to burn...
