Is metal snap lock or rolled seams? In hindsight, last time I had to redo my roof I wish I had put metal on.

We have metal roofs on all our buildings except one. Some are over 100 years old and still sound.

Standing seam on all the metal ones, including the newest ones that were replaced. Takes a little more time to do.

Looks awesome, sounds better. IMHO, metal is the way to go.

Your house will look, awesome.

Congrats, standing seam is the bomb.

Black! A black metal roof?

Hope you like it hot! That sucker is gonna ping and pop every morning and evening in the summer as it expands and cools back down. (Even my light grey metal roof that faces away from the sun does)

In my experience as a Contractor, I've determined that Roofers are the second worse criminals in the Trades. Foundation Repair crews are the worse!!! I wont go into details, or what to watch out for since most of the roofers I've dealt with are for shingle roofs. But seeing that trailer, and your comments on how clean they are keeping the area, and that they had tarps with them, all indicate a top notch crew. The bad ones always go out of their way to show you how terrible they are, they can't help it.

The guys that did my roof had a small dump truck they parked next to the house. One of the younger guys on the crew decided to get off the roof by jumping into the bed of the dump truck even though it was full of shingles they had just removed including all the nails. He didn't get hurt, but he sure could have.

You're absolutely right about roofers. My business years ago the parking lot adjoined a roofing company so I had them shingle my roof, 50 year () architectural shingles. The work crew showing up looked like prison work release inmates . It was a real nightmare and when finished it rained that night. Wife & I up all night emptying buckets of rainwater. They came out caulking everywhere. This contractor said the shingles were installed improperly. We spent weeks getting up nails with magnets, still had lots of mower tire punctures.
This crew is really good.

Glad you have a good crew. My ongoing roof saga indicates good roofing crews are a rare commodity indeed.
