The blend door on my jeep has a little gear and arm to drive it on both sides.
On the passenger side I replaced it a few years back and that one still works.

On the drivers side, it seems there is a rubber insulator that comes loose and blocks the door from moving, so now have heat when I drive but passengers have AC.

Still contemplating what to do as it looks like a lot of work to get to that door.

Designed to fail :-(
Yes, in order for the 'box' to come out, you have to dismantle the entire dash and drop the steering column. Then there is a structural steel support that goes across the entire width of the dash.... there are 2 welded 'down supports' on each side of the center console that encase the blower unit.....
Definitely proof that auto engineers don't work on vehicles!

Costco run was good, got off easy: <$200.

Rain has stopped for a period.... after depositing 1 1/2" !!
We really needed it. The guessers are still saying showers and storms until midnight. Hopefully so.....

Do need to make a PO run.
Will they deliver the mail if/when you cannot drive?

I'm asking because I saw how my mother's age affected her ability to get the mail. It went from down the drive, to in the yard, to by the front door, and even then it was too far.

" wow that will make today a 20˚ cooler day than the 100s we has last week."

Glad your finally getting taste of cooler weather Don.
High today was only 86˚heavy cloud cover and wind from the North made for a very pleasant day, now if we can just get a wee bit of rain.

"TV about Unclaimed Money"

Always wonder.

Scott, used to love the north shore. Several years when I was an Army Recondo school instructor we conducted rubber boat training in Waimea and survival training in Haleiwa. Doubtful I’d brave that surf these days. Last time I was there, maybe 10 years ago, I couldn’t believe the traffic.
Good Evening Thomas,
Yeah I know, but this is actually legit, even lists the agency that cared for my mother, so pretty sure its all above board. Anyways the state of Ct now has the money, I just need to prove to them I am the rightful surviving owner !

David,
I would think that surf would prove challenging for rubber boat training ! It was tricky getting out, and actually I had to time it perfectly to get in, but managed not to get crushed by a huge wave ! :ROFLMAO:

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 10C and it's presently 17C, light overcast with light smoke haze. It's calm and yesterday's predicted wind did not manifest, which was good as there was no danger of the 'fuel reduction' burn flaring up. The smoke haze is still around but, thankfully for me, whatever wind there is is taking it away from "Wagtail Park".

Today I've got a 'surprise' trip to Launceston for an optometrist appointment that I sort of knew was coming up. I'd lost the appointment date when I got this new computer a few months ago and my 'calendar' didn't transfer.

I'll leave in here in about 45 minutes.

That's about it, take care all.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 48° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 67° with partly cloudy skies. Went to neighbors and moved tree limbs off their lawn. While took down a pine tree that was blocking view of flower garden. Rest of the day was spent relaxing. No plans for today yet.
Found this Katydid on my barn door.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.
Great fishing bait! We have them by the multitudes during the summer. Noisy at night.

I was a bit skeptical of the tier4 engines when I bought my L6060. It has a DPF and does regeneration, but no DEF.
So far it is entirely seamless, I have never had to wait for a regen, they happen entirely in the background while the tractor is working. I do appreciate the efficiency that the common rail injection brings to the table, I routinely see 1.7 gph while pulling a 16’ mower. Also the exhaust is clean, and doesn’t appear to have any odor, even when run indoors.
So at least in my experience, it’s much to do about nothing.
My buddy has a Takeuchi track loader, the biggest version they make at 111 hp. It has a Kubota engine. The computer that controls the regen went out and is normally $2500, but he found a NIB one on ebay for $500. and got it fixed. He wishes he could just bypass it.

Good morning! Low of 54°, heading towards (possibly) 69°, it's still 54° at 09:00. A few sprinkles overnight, but it has been raining steady since 08:00. Currently .85" in the gauge!

I'm glad that I stopped the work progress on the addition.... would have been a mess ....

All the grading work on the drive has revealed a good slope / swale was achieved. The rain is draining perfectly.

The courtyard walkway is draining perfectly too!

Kyle, it's the blend door itself being "tight", the door is manually moved by cable. The gear that keeps breaking is directly connected to the temp knob. The other end of the cable attaches to another "geared" lever that attaches to the blend door.
My suspicion is directed towards that lever/gear combo. the blend door can be moved with your fingers using the small gear (door side) but if you put the "arm" back on that gear, it becomes almost impossible to move.

The assembly for both the mode select and temp are manually cable controlled, no motors or solenoids involved. Unfortunately, the cable will not activate the blend door movement. The cable is super easy when not attached.

Going to take the opportunity to run to Costco today while it's raining. Wifey is going to make some chicken soup.

Better get going..... Everyone have a great day!

Your landscape looks fantastic. Seems like someone would have a youtube fix on that blend door.

Crazy busy last 3 days at work. Worn out. Days fly by.

Don, how will it work at the sale if items don't sell? Are the prices set in stone? Can you pre-sell? I've got so much going on right now, I don't know if I'll have time or budget to get much.

I tried to buy a car today in an auction. Sight unseen, pictures only. It was a 2014 AWD Ford Taurus Law enforcement version. I believe it had the 3.5 ecoboost 365hp. Sad to say I quit bidding and it sold for just $25 more. I'm pretty sure it went to a dealer who specializes in buying these ex law enforcement cars and then charging triple for them. My buddy was mad at me for not going higher. He said "I would have brought my car hauler and picked it up for you on the way by." I nearly bought a GM caprice a few months back with the 6.0L V8....I just need to up my ante.

Prayers for our team.

Mrs. made apple crips so scooted got some french vanilla ice cream :) I have plan this evening. ;)
My wifey made a pumpkin spice bread and gave me a warm piece with natural vanilla bean ice cream on top. :)

Apple crisp sounds yummy.

riptides, you might have to break that job into 2 or 3 quotes. 1 for breaking and hauling concrete, 2 for plumbing, 3rd for fixing pouring new concrete. Old concrete is hard. Like old mens' heads. :)

So I've bought a couple of A/C car compressors from 2 different sources. The one I put in the Traverse pumps out cold air, but it is NOT quiet, in fact it is quite loud with a constant drone. The one I put in the Impala is also loud, but not as loud. Wish I could measure the load they scavenge from the engine.

While I'm not a hairy man, I have a good crop on my top, but I'm starting to have to shave a bit further down on my neck to get all the old man wild hairs....I hardly have any chest hair. Remember in the 80's when men would wear big gold chains with real hairy chests? And now, many women don't care for hairy chests after all. Lucky for me. My old rule of thumb, women had to have less chest hair than me if they wanted me to date them. LOL.

Y'all have a good night.

Week ago I noticed the input coax cable to my weboost LTE amplifier was laying on the floor. All lights were green like it was working. The connector had broke off at the circuit board edge. My fault for no strain relief. Tonight I attempted to solder it. Had to put a drop of solder for inner pin, then while solder soft push connector on the board, then solder outside to hold it.
Will test it tomorrow.

Good evening all. 67 for the start, overcast, light breeze. Light wind, overcast with some breaks, and high temp was 79ºF. Men's meeting to start day, then bike ride. after lunch worked on timer for outside light, dead ants better insulators than conductors. Light now working :) did get nap in.

If items don't sell they are put on a online auction like eBay, but her site.
Prices are not set in stone on the last day the prices are half price except the items we put "firm" price on.
We can pre sale but that defeats the purpose of them working for us. Today had 4 calls from friends/relative that wanted certain items and I just had to tell them be there early the first day. I'm not driving 3 hours for a $20 item, they will have to come to the sale. If we decide to keep an item we can take it out of the sale at any time just let them know so they can take it off of the online pics. People who get there very early the first day expect all online items to be there, especially if they drive a great distance.

Had to stay up till the last rain drop fell since it's such a rare occurrence. Total for the day .22" the most rain we have had this Summer!

I'm asking because I saw how my mother's age affected her ability to get the mail. It went from down the drive, to in the yard, to by the front door, and even then it was too far.

Not likely. We don’t get any sort of delivery. Ours is a very small, contract PO. Fortunate to have this close. I suspect in case like you asked the person would give their key to a trusted friend.

LOL, very challenging. No cocky students after 1st attempt. As I recall, we could shift the launch area a bit to the right and greatly increase success. Some classes had members from Marine Recon, even more fun. Always a tiring, but fun day. Our alternate training site was in Campbell Park which had little surf. Cadre always preferred North Shore. Student Safety was ALWAYS top priority and training would get modded to reflect conditions.

Not an entirely lazy day.
Do have a plan for my solar powered pool pump.
I can swap out 2 80 watt panels for 2 235 watt panels. Of course that means modifying the support frame, so an unplanned trip to HD for some aluminum angle. Plan is to remove the 2 80 watt panels, redo the frame and shift 2 of the 123w panels from opposite end. Extend that end of the frame to accept the 2 larger 235w panels. Then rewire in series. Of course this involves ladder and scaffold. The results will be a significant power boost.

Unplanned trip included a delicious late lunch with Sophie at our favorite Japanese restaurant. Also opportunity to refill the diesel cans.

Drinking cup of hot coffee. 44° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 68° with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures in house got to where furnace is needed to keep house warm. Cleaned humidifier and replaced pad. Replace air filter and turned on. Got instant heat. Last week I was running the AC because temperature where close to 90°. Things are still very wet. Grass was still wet when I cut it in late afternoon. Grocery shopping this morning. Then take Sassy in for grooming.
Slippery slope in to waterfall.

Ron, 44 is getting cold already. Good luck selling your stuff.

Buppies, hope that scan is all clear.

Did some shrub pruning and string trimming yesterday until the batteries died (and I was licked). Haven't seen any garden spiders this year, yet.
