The dealer sells all kubota at list price. when I priced it up with HST, loader, and rear remotes it was over $60,000

That's a LOT of money. Here's a 2022 with 368 hrs. for $41,000.

It's absolutely fascinating the difference in costs between varying locations; local markets are... all over the place.

If you buy again, take someone with you that knows tractors, buying and selling and how to deal. That would help. Don't be afraid to walk away from a dealer.
Also, fill in your profile a bit so guys have an idea where you live. Pretty hard to make referrals otherwise.

I felt from the start we should have just kept the old branson, at least we knew it worked. We would be using it right now if we still had it. Need to get brush and wood brought in before the snow hits.

We could not afford to buy a deer or kubota (only local in town brands) so we gambled on this one...so disappointing.

It's a shame that Kubota's price has increased dramatically over the last 3 yrs. They use to offer the 20% Equine discount which i took advantage on a MX5400.

Although if I was buying a new tractor today I probably still would pay the price to get the Kubota. Buy once, cry once.

They got rid of the equine discount? I've never purchased a Kubota myself, but it seems that discount really helped some folks bring these machines home.

I should have clarified. The equine discount was changed from a percentage discount to a flat dollar amount discount for members of the ACHA.

Back in 2020 I bought a new MX5400 open station, HST, with 3rd function, filled tires, heavy duty bucket, and 2 rear remotes for $32K after discount.

I'm glad they still offer a discount, but that flat rate will never be as helpful. Well, it's just the way the world is turning.

Local tractor shop has used Cummins heads and parts on Kukje motors and have told me all Cummins parts bolted right on without any modifications.

I get why you want the kukje motor for the non ecm mechanical motor. Yes they are based on old cummins engine designs , but they arnt a cummins. They seem to have an issue with cracking heads and trying to find a head is almost impossible. People have tride to have there heads repaired with so so results. I decided to go with a yanmar equiped tractor. Yes the ecm could fail, but atleast i know i can buy a new one with out issue. As there are so many of them put into so much equipment

Dang, reading this whole thread has turned me off Tym. I wanted the 494 but not with those axle issues. The Branson stuff I looked at but, with those parts issues no thanks!

Maybe I’ll check out LS, we have a huge new holland dealer right in town that could do the service at least.
