Ive seen a few of those huge Exmarks around here and they are fast. Obviously not for home or ranch use but for the lawn care companies with big accounts they are a money maker.

I saw a zero-turn and iirc it had a 104" cut. It would cut a football field in 10 minutes. 30K iirc.

But...why?

One would have to have some accounts that would justify dedicating that much money to a unit that does one thing.
Yep. This Exmark model goes up to 144" if I remember right. Two feet wider than my flail. I can't think of a use for it, aside from some sort of sod operation maybe? Perhaps highway maintenance? But around here that's done with big cab tractors. Wouldn't be my first choice to be on the side of the interstate in a zero turn lol.

EDIT:well looks like YouTube's been spying on me again. Just had this pop up in my suggestions. Some of the comments are funny.

I see it only comes with a Kawasaki gas guzzling motor. Needs a diesel. Main reason why I traded mine in for the Kubota diesel front mount was the gas guzzling Kawasaki. 5 gallons of gas per mow wasn't a cheap date and neither was the overall maintenance. I'd buy the Ex-Mark if I had the need in a minute. I don't and I'm seeing prices in the low 60's here, not 73.

That is for the man or woman that just hit the lotto or is inherently rich with money to burn.

For a lot less you can get a fully equipped John Deere or Kubota front mount mower with bagger and all weather air conditioned cab for under 35 with a diesel engine, plus the JD and the Kubota accept a lot of implements designed for them. You can get snow plows or power brooms, snow blowers or buckets or other stuff as well and a climate controlled cab with all amenities as well and it's 4wd to boot.

Like I said, if I had a use, I'd buy one but not for the asking price. For me, it would be a write off anyway but I'd still never pay list for one. All that stuff has big wiggle room.

It's an Exmark Lazer Z 37hp diesel. No fancy cab with AC. Looks more or less like any other zero-turn I've seen.

I'm hoping someone who knows more about these things can answer a question for me. Is there ever an actual business case to be made for a mower that costs as much as my 75hp tractor? I just can't make sense of it.
This is CAN $ price ?

I saw today in all the farming publications about more John Deere layoffs, and tractor sales of all brands declining.

I honestly wish they would all go bankrupt. They all been ripping us off the last 4 hours, so I'd be more than happy to see them all suffer.

But I guess that won't happen. Seems like the world is still full of people more than happy to sign their life away with financing.
Financing at 0% interest is free money. I Took advantage of it and I’m glad I did. My last tractor saved me about $150,000 over the last 24 years so I think it was an acceptable deal.🤷

Commercial accounts will make money with mowers like this if they have enough commercial clients to justify it. In terms of the specific unit in question, I think some of it is aspirational pricing.

With an acquaintance that did more residential mowing, his Toro Commercial push mowers had eye-watering prices compared to what you see at Lowes and Home Depot type stores. I will say that they were worth every penny to him and were in a TOTALLY DIFFERENT LEAGUE to what you see in the mass market. Was he ripped off? Not in any way if you looked at up time, quality of the mow, or the overall costs for fuel and maintenance.

In terms of Lotto winners, if I win a big Lotto, buying a lawn mower is not on my wish list! 🤣 Hiring someone who owns my dream mower is! 🥳🥳🥳

Thank You!! Finally someone is making me feel better / less guilty about owning a "cheap" Kubota ZD1211 zero turn -- game changing awesome machine btw.

You are going to like that zd1211. I have over 5000 hours across (3) zd mowers, and they are all great machines. My current "new" zd1211 has 1700 hours, problem free.

That thing looks small in pictures, but in real life they are monsters. I see them used by the municipalities around here mowing along the walking trails, parks and athletic fields.

I want one....

Well 0% saves some money I guess, but you better read the fine print, LOL

But regardless, that wasn't my point. My point is people keep buying and buying stuff they really can't afford and that why we now have $50,000 atv's and $125,000 pickup trucks and the manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank and raising prices by the year.
