Tractor
Long 360
I recently purchased a MT226HEC to replace my old Long 35hp my neighbor gave me. It has a hydraulic link at the rear which allowed me to add a budget top link (pretty awesome). Do they (LS) make a kit to add hydraulics to the front for a grapple? I haven't called my dealer as I'm not quite ready, just wondering if anyone knows. FWIW, I really like the new tractor. I was afraid the lower Hp (down to 26) would be struggling with my 72" finish mower. So far it's all good. Love having a bucket and the hydraulic top link, not to mention AC in the Fl heat! Didn't hurt my allergies either! I was thinking the bucket would just be an ornament, boy was I wrong.

LS makes a kit and also many 3rd party vendors like WR Long, which most dealers can get. This is what I got for my tractor.

I am correct on letters. Also does unit come with mid PTO as standard or optional.

Yanmar or Mitsubishi engine in this model please thoughts.

Upgraded seat air ride

Tilt wheel

Manual cruise control

Thought about upgrading but need more information. No local dealer has one in my neck of the woods

had the 3rd function installed when I bought my tractor, I asked about LS brand, and my LS dealer said they only use WR Long kits.

Yes on the HEC. I do not have a mid PTO, it has a Yanmar engine which does not have DPF. The power seems adequate for my purposes. I do have an adjustable seat, but it is not air ride, at least I don't think it is. Tilt wheel, no cruise on my model. It came with speakers and no receiver, nor does it have rear control for the 3 point lift.

Thanks for sharing details on mid pto that has slowed me up on a new purchase. Once they add it I come to the table. Been happy with 225s but would like cab and mmm for my operation.

Mid PTO is an option on this model. Most will not come with it, but talk to your dealer and I am sure they can order it.

On a MMM, I think you would be wise to speak to other folks that have that option. I don't have nor want one and they can probably tell you why for my 225s.

I been running mmm on mt225s past four years now at 430 hours. Been good tractor but like to have cab. Not everyone uses tractor same way or purpose. I had 3pt finish mower on lk3054 6 ft. Always needed to be cognizant of unit behind me. Found it’s easier to have the deck under foot. Thanks to all sharing info on mt226 series. Looming ag recession in the background probably going to keep what I have until better times are on the horizon. I been around long enough to see global economy rise now I’ll be around long enough to see it dissolve. Unfortunately the farmer is in the crosshairs on this downturn.

How’s

I am considering getting one. Do you find the range lever a little sticky?

How is it with slopes and implements on the back?
No issues on mt225s for range lever. It’s not synchronized so you need to be stopped to change ranges. Highly suggest wheel spacers if traversing slopes and if you are a person who likes the loader bucket above the hood. Not had any issues on tractor it has been handy to use. Again when I am doing more demanding work I have xr3135C it’s one complete size larger than MT225S more like typical farm tractor I have backhoe on it. not like case commercial backhoe but it works well and does the job effectively.

I'm in Florida, the flat part at that. No idea about slopes. The range lever was sticky at first, but it's fine after a little use.

Any amazing feats of tractor va Megagator battling it out? I’m nervous to pull the trigger.

Buyers market on tractors in current economy. Push back on dealer for savings. Starting to see lot of these tractors on lots in Midwest. Possibly have dealer sweeten the deal with free attachments bushhog, box blade or scraper blade. I ran 5 foot woods bush hog behind the MT225S no issues but again I was not mowing 4 foot tall grass either. It’s good starter tractor for first time tractor purchase. it’s bigger than 1025R green machine much more cost effective. Just use common sense when operating any tractor especially with loader bucket. Be aware of your surroundings to be safe. Enjoy your purchase it will last lifetime it maintained correctly.

I've been using an old, worn out Long 350/360 for years. It does not have the power of the Long, but it does everything the the Long did. I still use my 72" finish more (a little slower), box blade and rake. Having a front bucket is really nice. When a gopher turtle digs a hole I can scrape it smooth quickly and easily. I can push brush and debris and I just find having it is very useful, more than I though it would be.

Type of rear tires are you using? Are they filled? It’s a heavy tractor
