I'm looking for a HEAVY duty land plane. Several years ago, I purchased the largest version EA had, and it was great. I sold that farm a few years ago along with all implements. I just purchased a new farm, and along with the massive sticker shock of equipment these days, I was equally unprepared to find that EA was defunct. I would have ordered another land plane immediately, as the last was great.

Now, I'm looking and having a tough time finding anything that looks big/heavy enough to be worthwhile. I have a JD 6120M, so no slouch of a tractor, so want something that will handle the tractor, even though I only plan on using it for gravel road and some smoothing in the pastures.

Anyone have a good heavy alternative for an 84-96" landplane? I'd prefer one with scarifier shanks as well, if possible.

I'm also looking for a heavy box blade and Root Grapple. I purchased a Construction Attachments Grapple (sold it) before that was great. I can get it again at least... with an almost $6K dent in my wallet.

Basically, most of the things I see are for 'lighter' tractors. I'm looking for some heavier things. A good alternative on box blade and grapple for 6120M 620R loader, would be appreciated.

I have a Rhino 950. Eight feet wide - 1050 pounds. I got really tired of those lighter rear blade that just "clink" along my mile long gravel driveway and make sparks.

My top picture show my Land Pride SGC1560 grapple. 60 inches wide -820 pounds of AR400 steel. Run off a WR Long third function valve. Here is a better picture. It been a real workhorse for the eleven years I've had it.

However - if you are talking about a land plane grading scraper. This is my Land Pride GS2584. Seven feet wide - 800 pounds.

I use an eight foot Cammond...for years. Very heavy built. They make several weights and widths. Here is the specification page for them: BUILT TO LAST Made in the USA

Forgot to add, mine does have scarifiers that can drop down and really bite if needed.

Also, a compliment. My sacrifice skids finally wore out - I had no dealer close by. Called the company and explained and they let me order from the company. Really appreciated that kind of support.

I have an 8 footer. It weighs 500 pounds but that was not enough for scraping weeds off of hard dried clay soil so I added a 55 gallon drum with the potential for another 500 pounds. Now she's heavy enough plus I can add or delete weight by adjusting the water level. (y)

I do want the availability of sarifier shanks, as although I didn't use them every time, I did occasionally, and they were invaluable. I really wish I could get a land plane with a retractable 'bar' with those rock bullets welded on. That would be the best for me. Something kind of like this machine, but with a hydraulic bar that would retract/deploy.

Never seen one with retractable scarifiers. That would be a nice feature.
