I'm cleaning things out for more breathing space in the back barn and have lumber that needs to go. It's really a hassle to get in there to load and time consuming. It runs the risk of other people damaging my stored equipment that's kind of in the way. Plus, after we get it out it has to be loaded onto their trailer. The equipment tears up my back yard too.

What I decided to do was snake the tractor with forks on near the pile and load it at my leisure. Then I can back it up to get out and drive to their trailer in the yard. With 48" forks I can put the wood at their fingertips for fast unloading and if they want, slide it off the forks onto the trailer for an easier job. Either way, the forks save a lot of hassle.

I used it to lift 2 lawn tractors, one at a time, onto the back of a truck for someone to take them.

I have used the forks to haul small brush to the burn pile before I bought my grapple. Also setup a box for 2 trash cans to keep them from tipping while using the forks to take them to the road for pickup. Jon

I enjoy popping in there from time to time, it certainly is ridiculous. Of course, so is my brain, for giving too much thought to the difference in thickness between a post and a board, such as what pallets are made of.

I used an extenda-bed hitch that I bolted to 2x12 that I then bolted to the forks. I used this to slip inside the hole of fence rolls to pick them up, and then the heavy fence roll sat on the wood and spun around the pole while I stretched the fence in place. I used ratchet straps and a metal bar to stretch the fence. Everything worked really well for costing nothing since I already had everything.
