Good morning!!!!

My camera showed 70 deg yesterday in Ohio. My brother got loader back on the L5030. I had to tell him how to relieve pressure on one of the hydraulic couplings. He also put the snow blade on the back.
I've been up a lot last night.

Good Morning,
Vt, 34 to start going 49 ! Lots of fog laying over the field to our west, that should pretty much kill what’s left of the snow ! Glad the kids got their sledding in yesterday afternoon! The boys didn’t come in until it was dark ! 😀

I’m planning on visiting LouNy on Tuesday , looking forward to meeting another TBN member ! Sounds like Lou has done a fair amount of farming , and while I never farmed I was exposed to farm life as a boy with my grand parents farm in the Catskills ! Should be an interesting visit !

I normally get up at 6 or sometimes earlier, which is a good thing because my oldest grandson gets up then also ! This morning we are watching a documentary on old trains ! Quite interesting piece on the New York model #999 , which set the land speed record at 112.5 mph ! It was retired in 1952, a year after I was born !

Mostly congrats on 7000 mile mark , quite an accomplishment!

Happy in NC , hopefully no tornadoes coming your way ! 🙏

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning from Central Texas. 46 degrees (6am) headed towards 72 degrees.

The USAF (via Northrop Grumman) continues to develop the RQ-4D Global Hawk platform.

Used by Nato and other countries, the claimed specs are 34 hours endurance, 60K feet ceiling, speed 357 MPH with a range of 8700 nautical miles.
Unfortunately, it seems that even this platform cannot figure out what the drones over New Jersey are. :);)

54 outside this AM, heading to mid 60's. Balmy, warm, wet. Weird. More rain later.

Not much planned out, yesterday was a blur. Today more of the same. Need to get wood stocks assessed and replenished for sure.

Airport was super busy last night, as were the roads.

On tick bites, the worry factor is Alpha-gal syndrome. It makes the person allergic to red meat and mammal products. Daughter came down with it. One, it was hard to diagnose back then, maybe ten years ago. Two, I don't think there is a cure or treatment for it. It changed her lifestyle, big time. She finally seemed to have gotten rid of it just a few years ago. Not a good time.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

snow melted overnight, almost nothing left, foggy and drippy out
put heat on in garage, not sure I have right bolts to install vice, might need a trip downtown.
Since it was above freezing and raining, I left the car outside for a free rinse.

my BIL generously gave me a 123 piece Harbor Freight portable tool kit.
I looked inside. The tools are of the lowest possible quality. He thought he was being helpful
for the rv, but I already carry two tool bags full of good hand tools.
My screwdrivers are Kleins. My pliers are Channel Lock, my socket set is Dewalt.
I guess if I had nothing this would be great, but I admit to becoming a bit of a tool snob.
buy a good tool and hopefully keep it all your life.

HF has great tools, just not this starter kit
likely I'll give it away.
I already have multiples of tools due to the rv.
maybe I'll give it to the gardener...
or a young man. hmmm

My wife has had it for a few years...we eat chicken, turkey and fish. I occasionally get bacon, sausage, or a burger, but we were never big beef eaters...always liked the birds better. Supposedly you can "grow" out of alpha gal. She gets tested each year, and her numbers have gotten much better.

Hope your daughter gets better.

Got to the clinic at 7:45, so had to wait for them to open. The CNP that saw me said my wife did a great job removing the tick...no parts found, but did prescribe doxycycline to prevent infection and maybe lyme. They do not perform the lyme test. She said it is only 50% accurate...false positives and negatives and like flipping a coin. I've probably had over 10 tick bites this year, more than mosquito bites or deerfly bites. I usually find ticks fast, but they can bite even faster. If I expect ticks, I'll most often use one of 3 repellants depending on what I'm doing. I dislike using them, though.
I used to be a wetland field biologist, working in swamps from Florida to Alaska for the Army Corps of Engineers. Ticks and mosquitoes were always a pain. The only true preventative I found which worked for me was garlic. DEET was good but melted the plastic on truck seats.
With garlic I had to eat enough to get to a level of it in my bloodstream such that mosquitoes, gnats and deerflies would land but take off. But not eat to much that it became offensive to other humans.
Ticks seemed to get on me then try to get off.
Here's a study:
