Sounds like a disgruntled worker or improperly trained "new guy" vs a design problem. If it was a design issue all of them would be effected.

I have a friend who bought a new dodge, he drove to Ky. for a work convention, when he got there the truck quit running. Local Dodge dealer towed it in and three days later he had a rental car to get home.

Turns out a computer failure, and there wasn't a puter available before he left Ky..

Don't know about other brands, but on a GM vehicle, the AC pump cycles every time you select "defrost", to keep the AC pump seals from drying out.

So what is it that Ford is doing right?

After all, Wallstreet Stock Brokers are a pretty conservative bunch when it comes to their investment dollars - and they are constantly trying to see into the future.

There must be something in the future they see that they like, because Ford stock is up 20% so far this year. plus it is also paying a 6.9% dividend on top of that.
Those are impressive numbers.

Everyone knows Dodge, but not everyone knows Stellantis.
Quality has gone down hill in many brands, even Toyota. But some brands lead the pack.
I watch a lot of auto mechanic videos and Korean cars and Stellantis lead the pack of unreliable vehicles.
The jeeps of today pale in quality to the jeeps of yesteryear.

If I had to buy a new truck it would probably be either the F150 with the 5.0L engine or the Silverado 1500 and have the Active Fuel Management (AFM) or Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) disabled.

2004 to 2010 just about put Ford out of the diesel business. They had so many problems it was unbelievable! Then just when you think things are going well you get a $6000 shopbil for replacing a $60 fuel sensor. Yes the cab has to be raised to get to the fuel pump.
There are shops like powerstrokehelp.com that bullet proof the 2004-2010 Ford truck engines.

If I was buying a full sized truck it would be a Ram; they seem to be the only brand without multiple recalls. I don't need anything that big though, and the "small" trucks seem to be getting bigger than the '84 F150 and '98 Sierra, which were the two best trucks I ever owned.
