One reservoir for the hydraulics and drive system. It's setup just like every other SCUT I've seen.

I'm thinking something got lost in translation or that API GL-4 (gear lube spec) on the transmission fluid line in the book is a typo.
The RK 37 shows the same spec. I have been thinking about buying one and that spec confused me. I think I'm going to talk to Rural King about it.

Like @ptsg suggested above, I confirmed with my TYM dealer. They use universal tractor hydraulic fluid/oil. Anything compatible with wet clutches, brakes, hydrostatic drives and hydraulics. Not that it's something that has to be touched all that often beyond the recommended first 50hr service, but it's nice to not have to use $$$ OEM fluids.

I like the coolant recommendation too: "Antifreeze".

I'm still undecided on the engine oil/filter for the Yanmar 3TNM. I will run a diesel spec'd oil for sure, but 5w30 or 10w30 like the chart leads to? I dunno.. They're supposedly shipped with 10w30 in them.

Most manufacturers these days will have a dual spec for coolant antifreeze. Changes every 6-10 years on their specially-formulated OEM coolant, or every 2 years with generic.

I was also confused by that bogus spec, so talked to the shop manager at RK. The guy they had then was ignorant as a bucket of rocks. Caught the lead mechanic and asked him. He said the manual was wrong and do NOT put AW32 hyd fluid or gear oil in it! And that they used the RK Providence store brand of "Premium Trans-Hydraulic Oil, Multi-Trac Formula for Use In Most Applications" that meets the John Deere J20C spec.

Also, to the OP, if you're still having warranty/repair issues, RK does have a traveling "troubleshooter" guy for their tractors that takes care of problems like yours. If your local dealer won't help you or help you get in touch with him, they have a corporate customer service line. I know that the guy came to our dealer in Muscle Shoals, AL, to work with the mechanics to fix some kind of a problem on a RK55 a couple of years ago.
