I can crawl around and look for the vent. Any idea what general location it might be? tying to save some time if anyone knows where to start. The only thing I see on the diagrams is a line at the top of the bell housing called "oil line" which looks to be in a totally inappropriate location, directly over the clutch, for an oil line.

This should be it (#15), albeit it's not very evident. It's essentially a short piece of rubber hose, probably coiled, on top of the rockshaft housing. Probably under the seat and hard to get to.

Thanks, I was looking in the wrong place for it. TPH hydraulics, of course...

It's a cab model, so it's even more fun to get to!

It might be accessible from the rear though. It usually is. Unless there is a fuel tank in the way.

Engine mounted pumps are usually one of the SAE standard mounts, commonly known as A, B, and C. Is this tractor different in some way? It would be typical for the drive gear and female spline to be part of the timing case, with an SAE mounting pad where the pump installs with its splined input shaft engaged in the female drive section in the engine. The splines could be wet (exposed to engine oil) or dry.

As per the dwg I posted earlier, the pump drive is integral to the ft cover, and the pump bolts in behind, engaging the drive dogs. it's straightforward (Hah, I know) to undo the 4 bolts, 2 lines and slide the pump out. Not sure what's wet behind that cover, but given what just happened to me, I assume whatever leaks out the front of that pumps drops down inside the ft cover into the sump.

Found it, exactly per the dwh. Can sorta reach it through the rt wheel well. I'll put a wire through it tomorrow, but everything looks pretty clean under there.

It will be wet because there is engine oil running on those timing gears and bearings that power the pump but it's just residual oil as most should have drained out to the oil pan.

So should be a matter of just sliding the pump out.

Yeah, I figured as much. After looking at the diagrams a bit more, I realized there is a gear drive in there, too, which also has a pulley on the fan belt outside. Weird, as the belt appears to be driven by the crank, too. I guess that little pump needs all the help it can get.

Any lube oil to that gearset would have to drop down the case back to the sump, which is where I assume all the hydro fluid is going, too.
