3 point forklift attachment

Anyone else using one of these I had one years ago and just purchased a new one to double stack heavy skids I wish I would have kept my old one they have really gone up in price over the years.

I have seen them in use but never owned or operated one. My question is what prevents them from tipping side to side if not on level ground since 3 point arms can float a little independent of each other.

I have a forklift mast I wanted to do that with but never have.

I did make my last hay spike so it could be used with pallets though.

It has a better reach than my fork lifts. Like moving a fridge over the steps up to a deck or setting something into the back of a truck past the tailgate without having to let down, back up, lift again and skid. More distance from back of forks to front tires being the key.

I have a triple mast carriage from an old forklift we scrapped at work, even has side shift. Making it a 3pt mount is on my list of things to do.

I need it for the height as my actual forklift is only a 2 stage. And I want to use it to set the roof beams on my new shop, need to get off my butt and finish the project!

I have a two stage adapted to 3 point and it is a good unit. My hydraulic top link works well for the tilt function. I've never had a problem with the 3 point allowing to much side tilt. For that to happen you would need to get the center of load outside of the lift arm while high in the air which could cause other issues.

I’ve never had a problem like that and I’ve used them on uneven surfaces. They are not ment to be operated very far off of the ground you just keep them up high enough not to drag or hit the ground and keep the forks as low as you can when traveling with a load on them. I got a lot of use out of them over the years. The new ones will out last me for sure.

Pretty common in the orchards around my area. They're used when loading trucks directly in the orchard with the bins full of fruit.

The big advantage is that you're putting the heavy load exactly on the axle that is meant to see big loads, the rear axle. It also doesn't extend way ahead like a front loader does, so a much better fit for an orchard and its tight places.

Some people will find a cheap forklift mast but those tend to be on the heavy side. There are these forklift masts made for tractors that are much lighter.

They can use attachments like this tilt bin for grape harvest. It gets filled with grapes, then dumped on another tractor with a dump trailer.

I saw one on Marketplace and called a buddy who has a FEL that doesn't quick disconnect. He ran down and grabbed it and apparently works great or I would be catching it for recommending it! It was listed for $400.
