Today you pay a hundred grand for something that can't make it past 5 years without a failure.
5 years is being generous

One "feature" I dont like are auto lock doors.
Hey, Relax will Ya ! (Biggest Wink possible....)Trust a computer to make a simple thing horrendous . . .
Here's a dozen or so REAL rocket scientists from NASA, SpaceX, etc. standing around the kiosk trying to figure out how this (bleeping) thing works, with absolutely no success.
I can understand why many avoid the endless cycle that starts once you are in the system…Trust a computer to make a simple thing horrendous . . .
Went to a Space-related conference at a fancy hotel in Orlando. You had to register your car for free parking, they had a kiosk in the parking lot.
Here's a dozen or so REAL rocket scientists from NASA, SpaceX, etc. standing around the kiosk trying to figure out how this (bleeping) thing works, with absolutely no success.
I went inside and found some munchkin who worked for the hotel and asked it they could register my plate for me.
No problem - except of course they got it wrong by one extra digit.
Three weeks later I get a nastygram about owing parking, pay or die. Trying to fix this online was a complete waste of time, finally called a person, who called their supervisor, who called THEIR supervisor, etc.
Supervisor says the computer is always right and I owe it. Probably another car like yours with a similar license plate blah blah blah send money.
I asked "Now you tell me, son, what are the chances of an identical car to mine (unusual car), also a convertible, same color, same year, same model, parked next to me at exactly the same day and time, with a unique vanity license plate identical to mine but precisely one digit off? Probably slim to none, ya think?"
Ticket got canceled, and the expo is someplace else next year, where I am sure they'll have their own flavor of computer problems.

More businesses and professional such as Doctors and Lawyers are leasing…5 years is being generousI use to be a GM man, the last 10-15 years I only buy Toyota lol. Hundred grand for a truck that 25 years ago might have been in the $20,000 range. Nothing better on the new ones other than more plastic and just electronics

FWIW, there should be in the manual a provision for disabling auto lock because manufacturers understand their trucks are (occasionally) used for work.
The auto lock doesn't bother me, but the seat belt chime is disabled on my trucks.
I can understand why many avoid the endless cycle that starts once you are in the system…
Garbage in equals garbage out.
I have owned my 1930 truck for 40 years got a report to CHP notice???In these days and times being in or out of the system can mean a lot of different things. Can you expound on your thoughts?
I guess I'm just sloppy with my drink . . .Hey, Relax will Ya ! (Biggest Wink possible....)

Leasing is good for businesses who can write off the cost, and urban/suburban residents that don’t put many miles on a vehicle. It’s not a good option for us rural people who get hit with excess mileage charges on leased vehicles.More businesses and professional such as Doctors and Lawyers are leasing…
They simply do not want to own anything without support/warranty
