I've been a Yanmar person whether red or green for 25 yrs. Anyone know a reason I should not buy a RK 37 Rural King tractor. Would like to here opinions.

I, personally, think one of the biggest considerations with modern tractors should be the dealer's support after the sale. These newer tractors are getting MUCH harder to work on or even troubleshoot yourself. It is important to make sure there is going to be an established dealer within reasonable driving distance to help you if there is ever a mechanical problem that you can not (or don't want to) repair on your own. I don't think you can go wrong with that engine and TYM makes some very nice tractors.

How many Rural King stores are near you? Then ask how many have RK service repairs.

If you have at least 2 stores with service within an hour drive, I would say sure give them a try.

Like @AaronM mentioned, it's the support and the ability to work on them yourself.

I went with the Gray Market machine as it had siblings in the Deere and global engine market for gensets, etc. When you have a global footprint for a more common engine over many years, parts and supply will be greater.

I could of just settled on a Deere JD850. Once you touch a PowerShift, and realize the live-like PTO in the the PowerShift band is a huge help, then the YM2610 made more sense.

Coming back to the RK37, the Yanmar 3TNV88 is a modern version of the older 3TNC88 and 3TNE88 known for reliability in the Yanmar and Yanmar made excavators for other brands. Today the 3TNV88 is found in Hitachi, Komatsu, Volvo, Deere, and other excavators. Deere has it in their 3032E and 3320 tractors. Almost a full 20 years of this engine family in production too.

The only question then is TYM. It's had a few ups and downs. Yet, per contract commitments with RK, TYM has to be on top of things. Owning a TYM is not a good move, owning an RK version is better.
