I like going full speed in reverse. Keeps me from wasting time turning around to go forward. Really handy with an overstuffed bucket heaping full of material. I just keep the bucket a couple inches off the ground and head off full reverse. The bucket just skids along if the machine rocks. Try that in forward and you'll eat the steering wheel if the bucket hits anything.

Works good for log skidding, too....

Towards the end of this video, once I get out of the woods, off I go! (y)

Anyone else race with PT’s?

I out worked a Case 580 at our little league spreading moon dust (granulated limestone) on three diamonds. We got in 60 yards dumped in a parking lot. It was a long way around the fences and back. I could make multiple trips to his one. He was getting frustrated as I kept zooming past him. :ROFLMAO:

I do think lots of non-PT owners underestimate the PT capabilities until they see one in action. Probably true for lots of things...

All the best,

Peter

If someone where to set up a bunch of road pylons in a straight line and make a video comparing how a PT can weave in and out of them versus a normal tractor, that might be a good demonstration of the difference.

I needed to mow an area last year where there was no way to get a tractor through the obstacles, but the 1445 did it.

Just don't forget about wrapping it around a tree on a downhill slope!

(ask me how I know :ROFLMAO: )

Some funny stuff there! 😆
How about the “joy stick” control—the tall one? I’m used to the shorter one on the old unit, and this new one being much taller (to me) seems a bit more action is needed…I’m thinking I’d like to make it shorter…or maybe like other things, it just takes some getting used to?
Also, the under-dash lever (pto) for extra function—so far I’ve been using it for the grapple and it’s fine, but I like Terry’s suggestion of welding an extension to it, as he had done on his. He did it in such a way to put it up closer to the joystick. I had asked earlier about how it seemed to be a bit of a stretch to bring the hand off the stick and down to the lower lever and then he told me how he solved that. I think I’ll do that too, however, it’s a bit tough to start “tinkering” with a brand-new unit. 😉😆

I would prefer manual standard quick attach and using a joy stick that controls the grapple and loader functions.

Not too hard to do, but if it were me, I would do it hydraulically with a second function solenoid. However, I admit that I rarely need a 4th function, and the few attachments that I have that use the Q/A hydraulics, need the circuit very rarely. (Post driver mainly)

All the best,

Peter
