Looking for inexpensive AW46 - Hydraulic Oil

Cheapest I’ve found is old KFC oil. Gotta filter it some though.

I agree it is hard to pin down OEM requirements compared to aftermarket oils. The most annoying part is I’m 99% sure no equipment company actually makes the super duper oem only fluid they sell themselves.

I dug DEEP into THEIR specs, and the fine print said, "not for heavy duty hydraulic use".

My use is intermittent, non-commercial, so I’m not worried, but curious, where it says that?

No. It was mean spirited and bitter. Not everyone has the same amount of disposable income you and I do. Sometimes it is necessary to be frugal. My dealer literally told me as long as the oil says it meets the standard in my manual the manufacturer doesn't care what brand. Hydraulic Oil changes are expensive if you insist on mobil delvac, which doesn't even claim to meet ap gl-4 and isn't aw46 wieght . It is just marketed as premium hydraulic oil. And don't even mention the "303" bs or the j20c marketing. At least TSC has gl-4 and aw46 on the container......

I don't disagree there's a difference. But I think your machine will outcast you on cheap oils.

Yeah the stinky stuff. I’ve seen it in front axles but not hydraulic systems who calls for gl4 spec for hydraulics?

Regarding GL-4 rating.. I think you’re mistaking their “Premium Tractor Hydraulic fluid” rating with their ISO 46 hydraulic fluid.

If the fine print on the label lists "meets or exceeds the requirements for (insert machine brand)", thats' as good as you get.
