    Bush hog blade stopping

I was mowing grass with a 5 foot light duty King Kutter brush hog using a 40 horsepower NH tractor. It cut well in areas I had cut earlier this Spring but when it got into 2 foot tall grass (not that thick) it caused the blade to nearly stop but enough it did not cut at all. The mower has...

    Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

My brother went to buy some 2x4s 8 feet long. Recently $9, now almost $13 and they are No. 2s. Premium were not much higher. A small glass shower door, nearly $800. I really so not see how anyone can afford to build a new home right now, wiring etc. is also terrible in price.

Perlite vs. ESP insulation over concrete

The plan is to have it livable. That would mean adding plumbing, electricity and heat and cooling. I was concerned enough about the big hunk of flooring concrete getting cold without insulation and the county inspector is worried about frost heave so he wants it insulated or...

3.5 inch cap nails/foam attachment methods

I got a good deal on over 100 sheets of 2.5 inch foam to put on the roof of my pole barn. Good if I can get it attached. If I could find 3 1/2 inch cap nails I could nail it to the nailers. I could make my own "caps" out of thin plywood and use regular nails or any special type of...

    Clutch 4510 Mahindra

My 2004 Mahindra 4510, cab 4 wheel drive cab tractor recently barely had enough power to get up the hill while mowing. Actually the engine has plenty of power so I think it could be the clutch. It only has 1070 hours on it but I bought it used at around 900. I have not tried to adjust...

    Honda ATV Rubicon/Foreman

I have a Honda Rubicon ATV. When it warms up it loses power when attempting to climb a hill. It does reasonably well after that on the flat. I also noticed that the radiator fans are not coming on. Could that be a fuse, an electrical line disconnected, thermostat? Could the problem be...

    Massey Ferguson 50 transmission question

My brother has a MF50. His transmission is "stuck" in first gear, the hi-lo works but he cannot get it out of 1st into any other gear. He changed the transmission fluid he said about 1 year ago, the manual said 27 quarts so that is what he put in. He says the manual does not show a dip...

    Squealing 4510

I had my 4510 idling, the air conditioner was on. I was perhaps 50 feet away and suddenly a loud squeal/squal noise came from under the hood. I ran up and shut it down. I expected to see something caught under the belt or it almost seemed that something locked up and a belt was slipping...

    4510 coolant color

I just replaced the green coolant in my 2004 Mahindra 4510. I replaced it with DexCool, the orange General Motors coolant. I then read the most recent Popular Mechanics magazine and it said one should never use other than the original color as it can be hard on gaskets, water pumps etc. I...

    Greasing the 4510

Two questions actually. There is a grease jerk under the rubber floor mat, the front end loader column plate bolts thru the mat such that one cannot lift it far enough to access the jerk. I could use a rubber knife to slit it which would permit enough room to get to the jerk or how do you...

    Draining the 4510 radiator

    Greasing a 4510

Two questions actually. My 4510 has a grease port under my rubber floor mat. The front end loader column bolts thru the mat and I cannot lift it far enough to access the zerk. It is thick rubber but I can cut it with a rubber knife and that should give enough lift or other ideas. The...

I have a 4510. It wants to run warm/hot when mowing. This especially occurs if any weed/thistle fuzz debris gets in front of the radiator. I have to clean it often and it does not take much for it to get hot. Anybody else have these problems and cures. The fluid is full and good. I...
