    Ordering tractor from dealership

Walk in and talk to them, they will be below MSRP. Yanmar is growing around here. I think they see the market opportunity for small tractor sales.

    Korean tractor dilemma

I agree with keeping it. I think LS makes a good tractor. You will lose your shirt to try and trade/sell it and you could be trading into more problems.

    Korean tractor dilemma

I'm sorry, I meant LS is building them for Case IH, not Massey. My mistake. The new Farmall 40C has an LS Mtron engine in it, built by LS. I just sold a 2012 Case IH Farmall 40B and had a placard on it that said made by LS.

    Korean tractor dilemma

Even Yanmar has their issues. This is my 2 year old SA425's hood issue which they've issued recalls on but still, they can't build a damn hood that stays together and the stickers stay one? Congratulations on a nice tractor! Use 4 wheel drive on hills. You will get a feel for what RPM to use in general. When using rear PTO I run at the PTO speed marked on the tacometer. Read the manual, and watch a bunch of tractor Mike videos.

The Yanmar with the i-HMT transmission is made for brush hogging. That transmission alone sets it apart from other tractors. Also, that Yanmar engine is no slouch either ; ) https://www.yanmar.com/eu/agri/i-hmt-vario-transmission/

    Board fence ideas?

You can just dump the concrete in the hole dry, and it will set up from the moisture in the ground. That's what I do now.
  23. Yander

    Board fence ideas?

Yes, at least 2.5ft deep unless you are deep south. Concrete not needed unless corner or anchor or gate post. If you don't use concrete you will need to tamp in all the way around the post every 6" of dirt you put in the hole. It's probably more time consuming than just putting in concrete.

It will lift a 6' cutter no problem but a cutter that big on a small tractor can be unwieldy. Cutters can bounce around as you are using them and hitting things. Have you gone and laid eyes on a 6-ft cutter?? Go do that. They're pretty large, and your PTO is underpowered for it for sure. But...

Don't know how many hours is on your mower but it sounds like you have a spindle bearing going bad and wobbling because the bearings are worn and causing a miss-alignment which is tossing the belt. Scag Tiger Cat II or Kubota Z781?

Kubota. Kawasaki engine generally has better torque for mowing and just last. Gravely ZT HD 60 is about $5,500 (light commercial). But they have true commercial for the price range you mentioned. I've always thought Scag was overated. I would buy a gravely or a Hustler over either though.

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

Went to do a job about 14 miles away on our MF 1750m and was pulling an 8ft. pull behind cutter. I drove the tractor to the job as my trailer isn't quite up to the task. When I was going up slight inclines in the roadway it slowed way down, very underpowered going up hill. Then when bush hogging...

Iseki TM 3267 or Yanmar EF 235

I think those are both very similar quality tractors. You couldn't go wrong with either. Get the one you feel comfortable on. Both Japanese companies with great reputation for quality. RPM Question

Whatever it takes to do the work up to 540 RPM speed. If I'm doing work that is taxing my tractor at all, I crank it up. It doesn't hurt it, it's made to operate at long intervals at 540 RPM speeds Though usually 2200 Is plenty

    TYM T25 vs Yanmar SA325

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those models, though I am biased towards Yanmar. It may come down to the dealer if their proximity is similar. I drive 45 minutes to the established Yanmar dealer but I have one about 20 minutes away now also. Sit on them both and go with the one...

Thanks, I just went with the recommendation from the Case dealer, Hy-Tran, wasn't that terrible of price. I did also change the filter. I don't know how long the fluid has been in the tractor. It could have been in there 10 years for all I know.

Iseki vs Shibaura engines on Massey Premium Compact

I agree with all comments. I've owned both and I would only give Shibaura a slight edge as an easier winter starting engine than Iseki. I also agree they are as good as Yanmar and Kubota. Shibaura starts almost as easy as Yanmar in winter.
