    Roof Ridge/Cap Wind Driven Leak

It is not supposed to be vented, at least I don't think it is supposed to be vented. And I'm sure there is a rubber seal under it. But it appears it was either not installed properly or the wind actually caused it to move. Either way, the wind is pushing snow under it in 2 small locations. I...

    Roof Ridge/Cap Wind Driven Leak

I have a metal roof. I was up in the attic and saw snow. It is being driven under the roof cap in a couple of places. Not large. One area is about 16 inches and another is about 32 inches. Using the 16 inch on center trusses to measure. If snow is getting in I'm sure that rain gets in as well...

What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

Yeah, it looks like the clipper on friday will end my vacation from moving snow. 26 or 27 days without starting the tractor in the winter is surprising. So far this year I've used less than 5 gallons of fuel which means the tractor has not run more that 10 hours all winter. But that's okay by...

Thought I was going to have to get out the GC today to move snow. Not getting much but the wind is blowing and figured I'd have a drift in the middle as usual. But the wind is blowing in the very rare direction that causes it to blow all the snow out of my driveway instead of into it. It has...

    Pump out Fuel Oil Tank

To answer some questions. It's a long story. I have 550 gallons of fuel oil in 2 tanks. This is for my baseboard heating boiler. I now have heat pumps recently installed and will never use 550 gallons. I had the tanks filled before I decided to have the heat pump installed. Based on my oil...

    Pump out Fuel Oil Tank

I need to pump fuel oil out of my tank in the basement. I have a pump that will do it, the issue is that I cannot get the hose for the pump to snake down into the tank from the fill pipe outside. The hose must go around a couple of 90 degree bends and the hose is getting caught on where the...

Massey Ferguson GC 2300 bent steering box brackets :(

I still have a landline and I likely will keep it for a long time. I joke and say it's the number I give to people I don't want to talk to. There is and answering machine on it and if it's important then whoever it is needs to say something, otherwise I never pick it up. Beside this, it will...

Can I add anti-gel to my tractor

I've watched that video several times. It never says what dosage they use, single or double, and could not find it mentioned anywhere. At -20 (below 0f) they all recommend double dosing. At a single dose I would expect summer blend diesel to gel at -20 no matter which of the anti-gel products...

Geothermal related to cooling in Michigan.

It's actually very hard for me to tell how much, if anything, I'm saving on AC. I did not do the calculations last summer after it was installed. I have a 10KW solar array. What I have to do is look at what I generated vs the net metered value for the the same month before the heat pumps and...

Can I add anti-gel to my tractor

To clarify. I have 32oz bottle that says add the entire thing to 100 gallons, add to 50 gallons below 0. The latter is what I mean by double dose and it will not hurt anything. I've been adding this amount to every bit of diesel I've purchased.

PS recommends double below 0f. I wouldn't hesitate to do that.
  33. H

Can I add anti-gel to my tractor

Yes, there is a good chance it will mix in pretty well. Not all the fuel pumped goes to run the tractor, some of it returns to the tank. This causes both warming and mixing of the fuel in the tank. Let it idle a few minutes. In addition to being mixed because of return, driving the tractor will...

Sorry, I was talking only of the piston. Yes, the 3PT arms can be pushed up but this should not effect the piston and the arms should return to the lower level. I'm completely confused about how anyone could have a problem with the 3PT going up because the ground pushes the implement up on a GC. The GC 3PT has a single-acting hydraulic cylinder. You could park it and while its running use a jack to lift the tiller off the ground and then see if it goes back down when you lower the jack. It should if everything is working right.
  104. H

    3 point rising up

There is no float, and it is not designed to go back up. Once lowered to a specific point it should continue to return to the point. When the ground pushes it up it only pushes on the lower arms. This can be tested with your implement off. If you lower the 3PT all the way you can manually lift...

What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

Had mine out on Sunday to clean up the drifts. Looks like it's going to get another extended break with another long thaw. Doesn't break my heart.

Getting the wheel/tire combination I want on a new tractor

I have similar chains, I don't think it matters much what type of tires are under them 😛

That could very well be it, I just found it odd how that dot of paint aliened on the plug and with the tractor.

I'm also at roughly 1500', got down to -23 Saturday morning. It's 28 now and suppose to go up to 38 today, a heat wave. I'll be going out to today to clear out some drifts before they melt. It's not too bad because the 35MPH winds combined with the wind direction blew most of the snow out of...

    GC 2310 TLB front axel

I don't know if this matters.... The bottom of the plug is angled. Mine has a red dot of paint on the plug. This dot on the top of the plug directly above the longest part of the plug. I assume that the dealer put this dot of paint on the plug as the new one does not have it. This dot on the...

Found it online "RoboGrip", probably one of the best tools I've ever purchased.

I'm confused, that's where I fill mine from. I have a set of pliers, don't remember what they're called and it's too cold out to go out to the shed just to get the name. They were made by Craftsman, they are like channel lock, but they auto adjust to whatever you put them on. They were...

Will these fit the Massey 1725?

Something about putting kubota wheels on a massey just strikes me a wrong, but if they are less expensive and they fit....

What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

Was out again yesterday scraping off the mostly frozen slush. Not long ago I was looking for a better way to do this but I am not glad I have the bucket with the edge that I can angle down a bit to bite into this crap. I don't think I would have been able to move it without that and I doubt...

What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY

Had to be out twice today, once to scrape out the driveway so the other half could get in and then again after the snow stopped to scrape it out again because the we're going to get rain tonight and then it's going to freeze back up tomorrow. Even with the scraping I'm going to have ice to deal...

Ratchet Rake Snow Edge on stone or lawn?

Yeah, I have a pretty steep driveway. I can leave some, but the wet snows this year are leaving way too much. I'm looking for a better way to scrape it. I can backblade the entire things, this seems to work and does not dig up as much stone but it is a PITA and I'm worried about catching...

I'm pretty sure I've watched that but I missed the still shot at the end. Is that picture of a gravel driveway?

The wet, mucky snow we've been getting this year as be a PITA to move. Going forward if I don't get the bucket just right it either slide up and over or dig into the driveway and lawn. I have a set of edge tamers but the riding up an over is even worse with them on. I've had to resort to...

    Snowblowing rules of thumb

Defensive snow management. I also clear the upstream bank to my property line at an angle, about 75'. I'll also clear the snow out of the road if the plow has not gone through depending on how much is there. Really dislike needing to go back out after I've put my tractor away just to move what...
