    Dad and I had one of those conditioners. We pulled with a MF 135 (slow ground speed) unless the 4' tall grass was heavy, then used a MF165, which never ran out of power with the crimp roller tight. I'd have to watch any 22 HP tractor pull one through the grass hay we grew.

    Any starter that is not supplied with adequate starting amperage, regardless of ambient temperature, is destined for a shortened lifespan. While cranking battery voltage might drop to 10.5V, but if supplied amperage is up to specs. the starter will perform as designed for its normal lifespan.
