Square footage per person in a residential home?

If the dwelling architecture "invites" the occupants out doors, whether by eye or foot, the enclosed space can feel much larger. This works in bot summer heat and winter's cold. The book "A Pattern Language" is a good read on what it takes to make a useful environment.

Better charging alternative for Kubota g1900

From a quick scan, the dynamo used on that yard tractor is the same as equipped with any and all of the B series tractors of the time period. You are in luck! There is a 45 amp upgrade kit available from Kubota! I just put one on my B2601. There is a chance that your application will require...

[Kubota B3200] "Rear Seal is leaking" - What/where exactly is the "rear seal" on this tractor?

jacking a tractor is no more trouble than jacking a pickup truck. The weight is not much different (for smaller tractors) Just remember, there is NO stability from the front axle unless you drive stop blocks into the pivot. Read the effing manual!

    PTO Generators? IMD vs Winco?

I have found modern induction motors to be very tolerant of both voltage and frequency fluctuations. Most motors in my inventory today, which must be over 16 in number, (though several are 3ph) carry plated ratings for 200-240 volt, 50-60 hz input. Of course, I'm not going to pull the water...

    PTO Generators? IMD vs Winco?

Yep! I've got two tractors to choose from that have the high speed pto. Our domestic needs are small, but the well pump needs must be met. I'm sure the fuel economy of the .9 liter diesel will be noticeable.

    Cub Cadet tracked snow blower

There are no magic parts inside a carb. Pull it, clean it, inspect for damaging corrosion. Reassemble, run it! Start by dropping the float bowl and running fresh gas through! I've found water in some seasonal equipment carbs. That makes the engines run poorly.

Actually, I was just looking at that Load balancing diagram for 240V operation. I can't see any requirement to use the single phase outlets, so all I need do is to distribute the single phase loads, like the fridge and freezer to alternate lines on the panel. That may mean shuffling a...

Are there any useful methods to treat pitted hydraulic piston shafts?

Looking at the hose arrangement for this snow plow angle function, It is evident that there is no hydraulic pressure on the shaft side of either piston. There is a hose to allow "fluid" be it oil or air, to transfer from one powered cylinder to the other. But the "force" is transferred...

Generator? Dynamo? Not Charging B7800 Battery

The maximum continuous output amperage is limited by wire size and heat. The minimum output is limited by resistance. A "test" procedure for a bare dynamo would need to specify the load in Ohms, and to account for the magnetic field strength . Are those Orsteads? or a Gausse, or a Tesla...

I just replaced the dynamo with an alternator on my B2601. At low idle, the dynamo did not put out enough juice to detect a charge voltage to the battery. that is, DC volts at the battery were at the 12.5 volts typical of a good charged wet cell battery. At high idle, the measured value...
