PTO Shaft frozen by rust or something?

I also had one that was not fully disconnected. Oops. There are some strange connections on older equipment and it was just one I hadn't seen before. These days I don't use grease on a PTO stub because it but just makes assembly more difficult. I spray oil on the shaft and stub end before...

Stumbled onto reliable rural internet access

I'm the OP. Check the first post. Mine is $50 a month, $40 if I'm paperless and they take from my back account and am exceeding 50mbps right now. I thought they said 15. Unlimited data and my bill says that. If you live in the right zip code, this is the best deal I can find. Just a hunch but...

We've had enough of television programming.

On OTA programming, they're starting to snip pieces of the classic TV shows out to stuff in more commercials. A classic Andy Griffith Show with timeless Floyd the Barber scenes cut for a commercial is discouraging. I'm hoping they don't ruin these classics but am beginning to wonder if even OTA...

Anyone waiting for the new Toyota Tundra pickup?

Good points. The F250 with a 7.3 gas and 10speed is my next choice should the Tundra be too timid or only have the V6 for an engine. I could buy a Tacoma and get a V6 if I wanted it. The Ford F250 looks great but I'm so used to Toyota trouble-free reliability and excellent resale value that...

Chart of weights of many Deere loaders, frames and buckets

    Vicon (now Kubota) Pendulum Spreaders

Kverneland make the best dirt plows I ever saw. I think Kverneland won 49 of the last 50 world plowing championships. They pull easy. The problem is that parts were incredibly expensive because they had to come from Europe and be bought in Canada. If from there, you had to pay expensive parts...

    Vicon (now Kubota) Pendulum Spreaders

I've had Vicons and now Kubota branded Vicons for many years and will say they are the best on the market by a wide margin. They are incredibly accurate and seem to work forever if you wash them out when done, put oil on the fertilizer agitator. and turn/grease the width adjustment socket...

Stumbled onto reliable rural internet access

We live in the middle of nowhere and my somewhat slow internet access was bounced off a dish on a neighbors grain elevator to a dish by my house and then a 500ft underground cable to the house. Internet was often down and a tree distorted my signal. But, by chance, I was talking with Verizon...

    Majic Paint On Motor

For me, Majic has not worked out. My best bet is with factory OEM paint. Doesn't cost much more and is usually superb quality. Just a footnote on this. If you overfill the trans oil on this series--M7040, etc-- of Kubota, the overage will vent or drip out of the vent in the center of the tractor underneath and you'll think you have a leak. It's no leak and just the overfill coming out. I have verified this on two...

I've tilled lots of ground and the easy answer is to forget about most of the rocks. Break the ground with a set of cultivators that have shanks that will spring when they hit an obstacle. Then cultivate and go through and pick up the big rocks that are maybe a small softball size and bigger...

    An Amish tractor? Say what?

Stationary mounted engine and this was a large commercial shop. Now, I also saw some water power turning something but not sure what it was for. I doubt anything powerful so maybe it did 12V lights or charged batteries or whatever. I do not know. Below are some pics I pulled off the internet...

    An Amish tractor? Say what?

It looks to be true. Some bishops in Ohio apparently have let their flock use tractors  under certain conditions. The local bishop (think elder) is the head of a local group of Amish followers and his word is law--but for his people only. This is not popular with other Amish and most are...

Broke Down and Got One of those Fake Drawbars :-(

It's worth noting here that using the drawbar between the links has potential drawbacks. If you raise the 3PT hitch and that drawbar gets caught on the real tractor drawbar, it will easily be bent into a pretzel. Here's a pic of a CAT II drawbar that came with a tractor I bought. The fellow said...

Broke Down and Got One of those Fake Drawbars :-(

Indeed, that's the one I'm referring to. The extra wide tolerances to allow universal fit on anything and gives so much "slop" in operation that the metal easily tears. Broke Down and Got One of those Fake Drawbars :-(

These drawbar locks are a must. I've used this type of drawbar over they years and these little clamps solve lots of unsolvable problems before they occur, especially if working in the woods. Plus, there's a little fab time in making one. There's a store-bought one out there for maybe $20 but it...

Anyone mow with a 6' out-front mower like a Grasshopper?

A neighbor has a 6' wide out-front Grasshopper mower that we might trade for. That's pretty wide and I wonder how an out-front mower like that handles on open ground like a few acres. Let's hope not. Here's my dual fuel filter setup. Hose is off because I just painted the tank. It's a 12V pump, a waterblock plus a regular filter and all is good. The waterblock alone is likely enough but I already had the parts. It works for me.

I have a 6' snowblower with hydraulic chute and angle control and would like to use on a B7800 that has no remote valves. I'm not going t put them on it, either . I have other tractors with remotes but they don't work best with this snowblower. Electric would work on the B7800 and wish I could...

M7060 - Can additional rear wheel weights be added if the tractor has cast centers?

Yes, but. There are two kinds of carriage bolts. On some, the square shank under the head has a small radius cut into each of the square corners. That type works for the starter weight since they go into the tight and square opening on the cast center. They won't slip. For successive weights...

    TODAYS SEAT TIME

Recent seat time was only backing up and pulling forward a few inches to assist in putting the rear weights on a holdover M7040 Kubota I found last year and haven't used much since. While the Harbor Freight "shop crane" engine hoist makes the job easier, it's still a workout putting weighs on...

Do motion detector solar security lights actually work?

Local advertisements from a big box store have solar powered motion detector security lights for $20. The idea of no wiring and free power is appealing but I don't know a thing about them and wonder if they work. I don't even know what you have to do to install. Do you just screw them to the...

Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

It has to be this one. Looks like same gun with two makers. It's 20 oz, not 2 oz, 2 oz. HVLP Gravity Feed Air Spray Gun with Regulator 2 oz. I have an older version of this can and it was one I was able to get a usable non-EPA snout for it really works for me. It's my go to can right now. I had to vent mine with a push-in snap one but I really like it. You would just have to be sure you could put an aftermarket non-EPA nozzle on it.

Has anyone heard that Toyota is coming out with a Tundra dually?

This rumor has been around a while but I heard from a reliable source that there is now something to it. Of course that would mean a diesel and would we could two 18,000 lbs or more, give or take. I mean, I love my Tundra but need to tow more. Some of us have actually been considering a GMC...

Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Speaking of tamper proof screws, here's a security bit set that I'm glad I have. It's got every security or odd bit I ever came across as well as some more normal ones. Most recently, I had to install a license plate on a trailer and needed it and my folding knife had an odd adjustment screw...

Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

These drill-to-socket adaptors are $2 on sale and a great buy. I only use them a few times a year but when I do save a lot of time in assembling things or for tedious tasks by turning my portable drill into a power driver.

Lets see your best tractor pictures

Above is correct. I went back and enlarged the photo and there is just the smallest bit of some bolts showing. Photo is below and you can enlarge it two times for better clarity. The NH tractor is a re-badged Versatile and I can see what he's saying.
