Okay to clarify, when you post to FP, the thread will be hidden in an approval queue. Then it will be approved, then get merged into the big politics thread if it is political. In every case I've sent a notice to users when their threads are merged in.

My particular ranger has a 15 city/20 hwy rating. The E85 version has a 11 city/15 hwy rating. So it's 25% lower, at least. But again saving 50% on fuel... I know a guy who converted his jeep to e85 and says his mpg stayed the same. Not sure if that was a scientific test however.

After the forms were removed. Car on the driveway after a week of curing. Curing process was watering 6-7x per day.

No more updates for now. Driveway is curing and a storm just passed through. Next steps are filling the spaces between sections with sand and stone then landscaping, and turf. Should be looking good by the spring.

Yeah the mix was a bit dry, kept it in place. The finishers like that soupy pea gravel mix but it isn't strong enough for anything other than walkways IMO.

Well let's be honest, most of this has been for aesthetic reasons only. But the driveway had large cracks and sections were sunken and raised, creating a trip hazard. The weather here allows for less structurally sound building methods, compared to other areas. The way I see it, the stairs...

I should have taken photos of the roots that were growing under the driveway. The source of the cracks was obvious.

Soil never freezes here and we get minimal rain. It's a very mild climate. The usual base here is compacted dirt although some like to use crushed rock, it's not really necessary.

I'm thinking it will also be less likely to crack since the sections will be smaller.

This is the type of form work we are planning for the driveway. Probably nine six foot sections. Should be relatively simple.

There was also the day labor, lumber for forms, and bobcat rental for another $1100 but the lumber will be re-used.

I tried to find form oil but couldn't so I made some with a 30/70 mix of motor oil and diesel. Let's see if it helps the forms pop off tomorrow.

Uneventful pour... which is a good thing I guess. Ordered 7 yards, used about 6.5. 480 sq ft. $1,187 for concrete, $385 for pumping, $800 for finishers.
