    Backhoe Stand

Agreed. I store mine with the stabilizers down. But, I don't store inside because I simply don't have room for it and stuff tolerates being outside in the desert :) I park stuff under a roof just to keep the sun off, that's about it. The biggest issue here is rodents. We have over 40 species...

    Backhoe Stand

Where I live, plywood on the ground is prime mouse/rat housing, and therefore, snake magnets So you see, it CAN get complicated :)

    Backhoe Stand

yup, tried that.. no joy. Besides, I'm not looking for a "dolly" Just something to perch it on when I'm not using it. I have no desire to roll it around on a platform :)

    Backhoe Stand

I've got an MT1.25 with the backhoe. When it's removed I have it sitting on some big wood blocks but that gotten old now, Thinking about welding up a platform/stand/throne for the backhoe to relax on while it's off the tractor. Anyone else do that? Got pics? thanks! Bill in Joshua Tree, CA.

Do you know what the purple paint law is?

It's not been holding up in courts very well, even junior-league lawyers are coming up with arguments that courts are accepting.

What Do You Do With Your Waste Oil?

I'm in crapafornia and I burn all the used oil I can get in my foundry furnace.. problem is, I cant get enough of it, so I have to use propane instead. Way back in the 80s you used to have to pay to haul it away, for awhile it was a commodity and recyclers would pay for it.. now thanks to...

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Broke ground on the new shop today. (i know it's not an LS but my MT125 would have taken a month to get this done....)

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

If I was going to do it more than once a decade I'd probably rig up something better. I used your suggestion to lift the boxdrag out of my trailer and got flamed by tractor nazis.. there will always be someone who thinks they know more..

    Forward Exit Horizontal Exhaust??

I had a Yanmar with a vertical exhaust, now I have an LS which exhausts to the side and exits forward. never smell anything.

Does engine HP affect driving power

I dunno.. buying a tractor with more HP will speed up the work, maybe.. but it will certainly speed up your debt :)

What Do You Do With Your Waste Oil?

I wish you lived close by, I added a waste oil burner to my foundry furnace since it causes less metal contamination in the melt, but i can never get enough oil :) I've actually used diesel from my tractors fuel container in a pinch.

    New LS MT 125 owner!

AHAHAHaaa My Orange-Tractor'd neighbor asked to borrow my 125 so he could use the backhoe.. I remembered and used this line.. his reply? "I'll throw in a case a beer too"!! He's a riot. I let him use it, he brought it back washed and shined. :)

What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Used my MT125 to unload a safe from my trailer. Dug a hole to back the trailer into to lower the height, pulled it out, stood it up, then strapped it into the FEL.. Don't think I'll be doing anything heavier that this, it pretty much maxed it out.

    LB1107 Backhoe Stabilizer Pad.

Anyone have a mechanical drawing of the pad? I'm 150 miles from my MT125 and wont be back for a few weeks. I'd like to design some ground-gripper feature for the stabilizer pad but need the size, hole diameters and placement, etc.. I'm thinking of something a little different than some bolt-on...

Share Pics of People Hauling or Towing Something Wrong

The whole "ST" required tires might be depending on the state.. I have a home-made trailer that was made in the early 50s. Overbuilt and dual axle - both with brakes. I bought it in 1998 In Nevada - it was rusty and all the tires had rot (all passenger car tires). I took it to a BIG-O...

For those of you that practice open-burning of leaves/brush..

My place.. main house... 3212 ft elevation at this point. Dec 2008. Southern property line is shared with the National Park, which means I often see this out the window of my study: 1 year ago:

For those of you that practice open-burning of leaves/brush..

Forgive me if this isn't 100% LS Tractor related - but I see many posts where folks are using their tractors in concert with gathering and burning debris so... I'm California born and raised (ya, I know, I don't like it either but..). Here in most of the state it's totally illegal to open burn...

MT125 OK, I give up.. WHERE"S THE DIPSTICK?!?

Ya, that's where I looked but still don't see it.. the air filter assy is blocking a lot of the view, tomorrow I yank that off and see... the only thing i can see that's yellow is a cap that LOOKS like that's where the dipstick would logically be but it's a duplicate of the filler cap on top...

MT125 OK, I give up.. WHERE"S THE DIPSTICK?!?

So I go to check the oil and where the manual says the dipstick is, on mine is just a cap identical to the filler cap on top. what's up with that?

    MT125 return hose routing...

So I took the backhoe off and mounted the three point.. Had a great day with the boxblade until I noticed the return hose had been rubbining on the rotating seat brackets enough to chew up the outer jacket of the hose. What's the tribal knowledge on the best routing for that hose? it would be...

Dirt Moving MT125 Box Blade search.. 5 feet too big?

yup, put three hours on it today... I ended up drilling through the flap and into the box in 4 places and bolting it so it wont move. I'm leveling an area about the size of a basketball court that has a rise in the middle, cutting that rise down and moving it to one end. I like using the...

First full day with the 125, Carried chunks of concrete to the dumpster, used the bucket like a blade to move some dirt around, the backhoe to dig out a root ball and some holes searching for a defunct irrigation line, used the FEL like a crane to lift a used box-blade out of my trailer..put R4...

the ground up here rarely need scarification, pretty much everyone has them removed. I did get 4 teeth BUT, they're not like ones that I've seen before. honestly, I can't yet see how they mount.

Dirt Moving  MT125 Box Blade search.. 5 feet too big?

Looking to buy a box blade for my new 125.. found a used 4' but the guy wants more than a new one and he's a 4 hr round trip from me. My local (kinda) TSC has a 5' blade in stock (amazing!).. I like the idea of it being a skoosh longer than the tractor is wide, but wondering if it might be...

    MT125 Storage

Tire expoded with Slime in it...

My father-in-law gave me a home-made trailer made the 1950s that is awesome. Dual axles that look like they belong on a semi. 20 years ago I had American made ST rated white-wall tires installed and have always kept them covered. last year I decided to overhaul it, media blasting and power...

Baby Tractor Looking for an Engine..

I was gifted a 60s era Sears garden tractor with a totally seized engine. It has a belt-driven 4 speed trans-axle. I'd love to get it going from the grand kids to putt around with.. might even be able to pull the shaker-screen sand sifter I'm designing. I'm not an originality nut so I'm not...
