Are CUT Manufacturers pricing themselves out of the market?

A farm near me had to "depopulate" a couple million layers about 2 years ago. So just being big is not enough. Back to the subject of pricing, I don't think tractor prices have risen much more than vehicles or housing or other large ticket items.

Are there any 2515 or 3515 Branson owners with 6ft rotary cutter

For the OPs described usage a 6ft would be just fine. My little 2610h runs a 5 footer in thick grass no problem. I often run it in 540E. On a 2515 a 5 footer would barely cover the tractors width. Of course if there are a lot of steep hills, you won't be mowing in high range.

Whelp, for the first time in a hot minute I'm without a tractor...

Kioti seems to be a little better established in the US market so that could be a plus. Especially with the possibility of the Branson name going away. Which one has less electronics? I'm betting the Branson. I'd go with the 2515h for myself, but it's your call.

Guy uses fake check to steal Massey tractor...recognize him?

I purchased a tractor 5 hrs away in another state 2 months ago. Private party sale. No way was I going to tell a total stranger that I was arriving with $14,600 in cash. He was willing to take cashiers check so that's what I did. I use a small local bank so doing the withdrawal at another branch...

Deere 5055E - help finding some kind of a cab so I don't freeze another winter

My grandfather had a 5045e. He built his own cab for it using plexiglass, 2x2 lumber, and plywood. It was designed to be removable for summertime. No heater, but it was still comfy in cold weather. Needless to say it wasn't the prettiest cab around!

Branson BL110 ssqa -- standard size?

I'm just going to enlarge the holes in my fork frame. If I borrow or rent other attachments in the future though that won't be an option.

Branson BL110 ssqa -- standard size?

Ive got a Branson 2610h, with BL110 loader. I ordered a ssqa pallet fork frame on Ebay and installed some used forks I found on Marketplace. After putting it on the tractor I discovered the latching pins on the tractor are too close together. I can latch one but not both. I need to measure the...

How Much Metal do I Need to Leave on SSQA Mount?

It basically just serves to keep the plates aligned and spaced while being installed. If it's welded continuously it would provide just a bit of reinforcement.

    LS or Kubota

It's kind of funny. In every thread of this type the lesser known brand promoters (for lack of better term) always point out the better lift capacity, options and price. Kubota guys (or JD) always harp about parts, service, resale, etc. If kubota or JD had best in class lift capacity, chasis...

My Tractor Mechanic is not happy

The old gassers are usually pretty reliable and easy starting. The diesels of that era weren't that great and started hard. Unless they were rebuilt with better pistons, etc. They definitely don't have the torque of a diesel though. Do yourself a favor and replace the distributor points with an...

    3pt ballast design questions

I already have fluid filled rear tires. Just moving dirt or hravel that is sufficient. I want some additional weight that I can put on, mainly for when I use pallet forks or possibly a grapple in the future. I want to gain some stability at near max lift, but mostly looking to save the front...

    3pt ballast design questions

I'm looking for some input on building a 3pt ballast box for my Branson 2610h. My first, and main question is concerning how heavy to make it. I plan to make it out of concrete. Simple rectangle/cube shape. Weight will be centered at or just behind the pivot ends. My tractor is rated to lift...

    LS or Kubota

There was an Ls model I looked at recently that had the loader valve mounted down low in front of the platform. It had hoses sticking way out the side. The whole works could have been knocked off by a stump or something. Don't recall the model though. 25 or 30 hp. I was just kicking tires. That...

    Branson dark gray paint

I'm looking to paint a few (custom) things on my 2610h. I searched here and FB, but couldn't find where anyone mentioned it. There are plenty of recommendations for red, but not black/gray. Not close to any dealer, or I'd try there. Rust-oleum is my preferred brand.

    Is sub compact big enough?

Here are a few pics. I got some limestone delivered for the driveway today. Spent a little time smoothing that out. Hard to accomplish much by just backdragging though. I'll be getting a box blade in the next couple weeks though and can grade it better them. I really like the tractor. It's a...

    Is sub compact big enough?

$14,600. A new machine would have been 18-19k plus tax. I feel like it was a good buy, but not a steal. Only has 43 hrs. Previous owner needs to send the owners manual and other papers, but it should still have some of the 2 yr warranty left. Plus 4+ years of the power train warranty.

    Is sub compact big enough?

Got the tractor home safely. I drove 287 miles one way to get it. Didn't get home til 11pm. Will post more pics tomorrow or sometime since I didn't take any others yesterday and no time today. The tractor is splattered with mud and kinda dusty but seems to be in good shape otherwise. Now the...

    Is sub compact big enough?

If everything goes as planned I'll be picking up a lightly used Branson 2610h tomorrow. After some more researching I decided this is the size machine I want. More capable than a SCUT but not so big that it becomes unhappy for small tasks.

    Is sub compact big enough?

That's pretty much what I've concluded. If bigger tractors were cheaper, it might look different! For myself I think the main advantage of larger would be FEL lift height and capacity.

Cost to add loader to GC series

I don't own a massey. Sorry if my post implied that. I'm only curious if it would be cheaper to add a new FEL to a used tractor vs buying a used tractor and FEL.

    Is sub compact big enough?

For those who advised keeping the 2010 or wondered about the 3pt hitch: do some research on this site. You'll find that these tractors are pretty much a hopeless case. I'm content to use it for now since it's all I got on hand. Like my brother has said: "the only good thing about a 2010 is that...

Cost to add loader to GC series

Some of you commented on my post in the General Buying And Selling. I've been looking at prices locally. There are quite a few GC series tractors that are plumbed for FEL but only come with MMM. I couldn't seem to find any prices listed for just a loader. I could easily do the install myself...

    Is sub compact big enough?

Thanks to all for posting. I'm not trying to buy the biggest tractor I may possibly need. Some of the posts seem to imply that a 50 hp tractor can do everything a SCUT can, but not vice versa. That only tells half the story. I'm going to keep looking for a good deal on a gc1705/1715 or gc...

    Is sub compact big enough?

Good advice. I made a list of all the tasks I would use a tractor for. I then put a rating of 1-5 for each task on how well a SCUT or CUT would work for that. The SCUT scored 93, CUT scored 84. They both had one zero. I'm curious to hear from others who "bought too small" and later traded up...

    Is sub compact big enough?

Somewhere on this site I've read the following (true) observation: "A good 2010 can't be broken, and a bad 2010 can't be fixed." LOL! It also leaks oil in many places, and tires are wearing out. I'm not worried about a few tire lug marks or grass torn in places. We've got pretty heavy clay soil...

    Is sub compact big enough?

I'm well aware of the difference in weight as compared to a 2010. How practical is a 5,000 lb tractor for doing small jobs tho? That's kind of where I'm at right now. But I have some questions that still need an answer... The common advice to visit lots of dealers, test drive, etc isn't helpful...

    Is sub compact big enough?

Obviously a big draw for a SCUT is that it can be used around the yard and buildings more easily. (Instead of my wheelbarrow!) No one has addressed my question of soil compaction/cutting tracks. If I'm only moving mulch, will the small tires of a SCUT give me better results vs larger tires (and...

As if there aren't enough of these threads! Sort of an old question I know. I've been eyeing a newer tractor for a long time. Was hoping the market prices would correct themselves, but it don't look like that will happen soon. I own 18 acres (no hills). 2-3 around the buildings, 10 acres field...
