Living in MN, we're subject to quite a bit of extreme cold. According to some of the local farmers, it is a good idea to have an engine block heater installed. According to the manual, there is also a hydraulic heater available too. Anyone have any comments on these at all? Thanks! -Bob

I was thinking about buying either a new JD 4500 or a new JD 4600,do you think I would be ahead to wait until the 2002 models came out,or would it matter that much. Would there be any improvements on the 2002 models that are not on the 2001? When will the 2002 models be on the lots?

Is it true that the 4700 has only 41 HP net compared to 41 HP net for the 4600? This must be a typo on the JD web site for Lawn and Leisure tractors?

According to the JD literature all of the series 4000 tractors have larger cu. in. displacements as the horsepower increases, EXCEPT the 4600. The 4500 is 39Hp with 121 cu. in., and the 4600 is 43Hp with 121 cu.in. Does any body know how they get that? Do they have a turbo on the 4600?
