1086 digital data center help

The digital data center on my International 1086 keeps going nuts. It will work for a while, then the numbers jump around, and the display is bright on the first digit, and the rest are real faint. I know from sound about where the 540 pto is, but having the read out is better. Also jumps around on the exhaust gas. It is a digital read out with pto 540, pto 1000, rpm, speed, exhaust gas, and I think one other. It is the type you push on a flat surface to change between the different readings. That does not always work either.
Can this be fixed and who can do it. I called a local International dealer and he said new one is $1200, ahhh.

Slippy...I saw your post here for that 1086 digital data deal some time ago, and asked today while on the phone with 2 pretty extensive tractor junkyards I've used, 1 in VA and the other in NC, and neither one had ever had a large IH that recent come in. Just thought I'd mention it, though I reckin' it isn't any help. Hope you get that working for less than it is looking like.

I found a place that will repare for $150. Thanks taking the time and checking. That was very kind of you.

You do seem to have some internal problems with the unit but the one thing that helped many was being sure the grounds are good.
