14x20 skid shed build

Thanks for that picture. This has to be the best engineered (over-engineered) skid-able shed I have seen. Looks like some of the work buildings they use for the northern oil fields and those take a helluva beating.

Well, I guess that's a compliment. I worked in the oil patch a few years. We designed it following our codes, and needs. And since we built the other one you can see in some of the photos, we had an idea what we needed. Oh and we never thought the 1st one would ever need to be moved. 8 years later, it was moved to make room for this one.

More work done and another implement was moved in today. The first photo is a winch mount before it was screwed on. To attach the winch, we used three, 5" structural screws. The remainder photos might be self explanatory.

Arly, looks like you are putting snow on your walls?

Arly, how well does that Grizzly with tracks work in the snow? Will it go thru deep snow?

Kyle. Its only job in life is to tow implements through snow, so i guess it does well. We use it for around 300 hours per season. The pods should have been removed for this little job of moving a implement, but that takes 30 minutes to get them off, whereas moving the drag, took 10.

Folks, We've been away on vacation for a few days. The spousal unit wanted to see her folks on the north shore (in MN) and she needed to get away from her job anyway. Nonetheless, we'll be back at it on tomorrow am. Hope that suites everyone well....

We got the last wall of tin installed today. Sorry but I didn't get a shot of that. We also got the last implement in and hung on the wall.

The 1st photo is the unfinished threshold. Its 10 wide, same as the door and the left side is what the actual threshold is.. While the right side will be outside.

Here is what the front side looks like today. Please note, J edge, corner trim etc, etc, remains to be added. Also are photos of the threshold which i got a good start on today. This will serve several functions. One is to strengthen the weakest portion of the building, if it ever needs to be skidded. Of course will keep most water out with its sloping top.. Lastly tabs will be welding on it to mount the building ramps to. More on that later.

The last ones are up-close details of the lift pulley mounts.
