This is my first post. The Ford 2000, 3000, 2600, 3600 are fairly common in terms of operation. As another rookie tractor operator, I recommend that you get your hands on the owners manual for any of those models to get familiar with the controls before you operate. My 3600 has a pin to lock the left and right brake pedals together so the L&R braking force is applied in unison. Once you gain more hours in the seat, you can learn to use the pedals independently and you will marvel at by which you can tap a spinning rear tire with the brake and the other tire pulls you out of the muck or make a short radius turn. My tractor has a T shaped pull that locks the foot brake for parking. You should make sure you understand the brakes before you service or use your tractor. Open the hood and check the wiring between the fuel tank and battery to make sure the wiring is still insulated. This has caused this model family to catch fire. Keep a fire extinguisher handy. Mark sure you have oil and coolant. Service your battery so you get good spark. Drain your gas and put fresh gas in it. Drain carb float into clear container and look for water. Check for spark: remove spark plug, stick SP in the SP wire and ground the threaded part on any bare metal away from the spark plug hole. Crank engine. Avoid the gas laden vapor coming out of the now open SP hole. You might need a helper for this and it helps to do it in low light. You should see a spark. Do it on every plug. Clean each SP with a brass wire brush and gap them while you have them out. Service your battery so you get good spark. Choke on & no throttle or Choke off & open throttle. Mark sure you have oil and coolant. If still no joy, check your points.
