Should we start a McCulloch-Kubota D 20 registry? is this an important enough machine? This highlights the downfall of the American made small tractor how did we i.e. us Americans miss this segment of the small tractor production. Japanese have small farms and good small tractors and they sold lots of them. With new models coming out all the time. Gasnutte

I have Kubota # 10004 have owned it since 1976 with rototiller great tractor finally got new tires 8.3 X 24 this year. climbing in and out into getting hard for an old man. I recommend replacement of the air cleaner for a Donaldsen 2" much better than oil bath. I thought I had the oldest then somebody comes up with # 10003 life is not fair. gasnutte

I see there’s a few McCulloch D-20 discussions. I have one serial #10080 so I’m assuming that puts it in the 1965-66 range. I have had a few people show interest in buying it from me but I have no clue on a value. Has anyone in this forum been able to find a reliable source.

Very interesting old Kubota! If I were an executive at Kubota, I would be
interested in acquiring this earliest of machines for a possible future
display or museum. Kubota has an interesting history to preserve.

This is not my tractor, found the picture on the net years ago. Thought it looked good, the person that has it has done a good job at a restore or has taken real good care of it. Don't know the model or the year just like it.

Yes, it's unfortunate about the once bad past between Japan and the US, but you really have to appreciate Kubota as a company and what they have accomplished.
And I had no idea they were the start of Datsun/Nissan Motors.

And the very first diesel engine to meet the new EPA regulations.

I have seen, somewhere, a thread about a similar machine. To the right collector, this may be an appealing item. It is listed for "best offer" on Craigslist Phoenix. Apparently these were imported by McCulloch in the mid to late 60s, before Kubota entered the market...

BMW and Mercedes (among many others) sure as heck did.

It could be they just didn't mention it, or maybe they left all that to Mitsubishi and Kawasaki.
