Aw come on guys, taking down a MkII or MKIII is not that big of a deal. Sure it is more difficult than a 1911, but obviously none of you have taken down or put back together a Colt Woodsman. Now that is a challenge, especially your first time. Here is a retrofit that will make your MkII or MkIII a piece of cake.. I don't have one, because I am good at putting together that MkII of mine, but some of you might like it:)

Yep, I've owned the Ruger .22 and my son still has one as does my daughter in law and my wife owns a Colt Woodsman Match Target.

RRR have you ever taken apart that woodsman, and successfully put it back together?.. I got my baptism by fire one day when a lady brought in a woodsman in a basket, to a gun shop I was working in part time, and said "here see if you can get it back together" I got it back together, but it was not without help. Royal PITA Nice pistol though.

The best advice that anyone could give you is to do your homework, figure out what you need/want, talk to people that own the guns you are interested in, and test fire them as much as possible to see what they feel like.

I own a Taurus PT709 and like it. It has a lifetime warrenty. My brother owns a Ruger LCR and SR9c and loves them both. The LCR is perfect for everyday carry and the SR9c is the deep woods carry. My dad owns a Ruger SR22 and we like it, but it seems to jam often.

My uncle swears by his S&W revolver and Glock pistol. Last time we were at the range his glock jammed and the S&W broke!

The point is everyone has their opinion on the subject and at some point in time every gun will fail (especially if not taken care of). Figure out and get what is right for you.

Not recently as my son uses it for training and I have delegated that task to him. My wife's first pistol was a Colt Huntsman then she saw the Woodsman Match Target and fell in love with it. I would not have been able to disassemble them without the manual and probable would have to look at it again right now. My S&W Model 41 is much easier.

Hers is identical to this one and is still in really good condition.

ANY firearm can jam, whether failure to feed or failure to eject. (1) Get TRAINING to know how to clear a jam. (2) Try different ammo to find what shoots best in your firearm with YOU using it. (3) Many times FTF or FTE are caused by poor hand grip techniques, and not the fault of the firearm.

I have shot a .32 ACP Taurus and it worked great. I also have shot a .38 spl Taurus revolver and it was good. I think Taurus gets a bad rap for selling a less expensive firearm. I would have no problem owning one and using it for a daily carry weapon.

Same here...a Taurus .38 snubby is in my pocket as I type this.
I really like Taurus revolvers and the quality of their guns has increased dramatically over the years. I've owned 10-12 over the years and still have three (two .38 snubbies and a .357 Magnum).
Now, I have no experience with their semi-auto pistols...but I do with the little Ruger LCP and that one would be my recommendation if the OP wants a small .380 pocket gun.

I have the Taurus TCP 380ACP, added a laser sight as the sights manufactured into the slide are useless. Love the gun as it is light and small enough you won't get tired of carrying it. Mine came with the cell phone style belt case which is great. Not for a person with big hands. I can only get two fingers securely on the grip. I would add a magazine with the little hook you see for some small pistols (to accommodate the next finger) if I could find one.

The moral of this story...one pistol is not enough so get buying!
