2001 same tractor problems

I have a 01 same tractor that will not go into forward or reverse gear. Worked fine the last time we used tractor but has set since Dec. And now will not go. Everything else shifts fine. The shifter feels like it's in a bind or hung up just in between gears. Not sure what to svheck first. All help is greatly appreciated.
