Sorry to jump on you, but that myth has been around for years, and it has never been true. The Cummins ISB is available in the Ford F-650/750 and a lot of people think that means Ford owns Cummins. At some point a while back, Ford owned a small number of publicly traded shares of Cummins. Apparently that was the extent of that relationship.

Last I knew, Ford owns Cummins
Someone brings up this rediculous myth everytime. Do you people seriously think if Ford owned Cummins, they would use that Powerstroke...?

Ha ha! More proof you never owned one. And this is coming from a guy who thinks that anemic Ford 5.4l and Nissan's 5200 rpm 316hp screamer are great towing engines! Too funny!

Trust me, wish I did not. Love and learn.

I still think its funny you think HP is the end all be all. Putting the power to the ground and torque is where its at.

There are two 4wd Excursions for sale within five miles of my house. I know one of the sellers and that one is a clean 7.3. The other one is real nice too but I don't have specifics. If anybody wants more info on either pm me and I'll check into them.

The Cummins is just one of the great engines found in a Dodge truck. Don't forget the solid 318 V8, torque filled 360 V8, and the greatest normally aspirated gas engine ever put in a truck, HEMI 5.7.
But, to each his own...

Don't get me wrong, I love my Dodges, they are the only pickup I have owned, after driving many brands for work, and on test drives, BUT, and it is a BIG BUT, Greatest Gas Dodge at least, HAS to be the V-10 that was offered in the 2500& up. Smooth as glass, and would pull anything that the Cummins of the same time frame would pull. I drove one for a landscaper, and actually preferred it over the cummins, as it would start much better in the winter, never ate an injector pump, or 3, and the best part, I didn't have to put in the gas- that was it's only fault. If I needed a bigger truck, I would look for a 10. I still love my 05 4.7 2wd. Drove a Hemi 5.7 w/ MDS, and what a POS. Heck, if the speed limits never got over 40 mph, I'd drive my 31 Ford AA every day. OK, yell at me all you want, I'm done. Ford w/a 7.3 is the way to go in a SUV. I wanted one when they came out, but couldn't justify the price. Now, they seem like a good deal.
