200DX ?

Well, it is finally time to get my Tig welder. Pretty sure it will be a Everlast 200DX. There have not been many discussions lately but please no "color" wars or country of origin wars. Lord knows we don't need any more of those. Was just wondering if there was any new developments or info lately? Will be used mostly for 4130 aircraft tubing (mostly ~.035", max .090") and aluminum fuel tanks (~.050).

I wonder if Everlast has a Tig machine with the option of having the AC frequency going up to 250 Hz? That was a big help with my Tig welding of aluminum

. Just the other day I set my Dynasty 300 on 60 Hz like a transformer machine, it drove me crazy to listen to that!:thumbdown:

All our AC/DC units go to 250Hz on AC now.

I'd look at the 210EXT. Though it it costs more, its not a lot, lot more, and you get a lot more capability, including lower amp starts. Almost all 200dx units are the 200DX-DV now. We have been hit a little by the dock strike out in CA and are expecting a bunch in shortly, but both units are out of stock I believe due to it.

I really think I would like one of the "analog" ones better. If I want to bump the pulse up or what ever, I can just reach over and turn a knob, instead of running through a menu to find what I want to adjust.

The way these digital units were designed, the menu is straight forward, right on the front of the machine and a couple of presses of one button and all you have to do is increase or decrease the pulse settings like you want.
