2010 dodge ram 2500/3500

Right. I hear guys with stock 12 valves "P" pumping them and adding big injectors and a 7.3L Ford Intercoolers. There are a few other home brewed tricks to get them upto around 500 RWHP. If I remember right the origional Cummins in the Dodge trucks was only 160 HP but underrated and more like 200 HP but still a far cry from today's trucks.

They had some torque though. but yea 350hp and 650lb ft right now and more to come.

There's no way he has "chips" on a 12 valve. 1 - The pump is completely mechanically controlled, it's impossible to add a "chip", 2 - There would be no point to attempt to adapt an electronically controlled pump to it as the P7100 has the ability to flow more fuel than any VP44 or CP3 ever could. 12 valves make there power the old fashioned way, all wrenching no electronics. The P7100 is a lot of the reason why people like them for pulling truck's as well.

Exactly! You can easily gain a good amount with just injectors and a modified fuel plate but then the exhaust starts to run hot so you get into a larger turbo (or twins with some head modifications), three piece exhaust manifold and a 4" or 5" exhaust. Then you add larger delivery tubes to the P700 pump, larger fuel lines. Anyway, you can easily see 600HP and 1000 ftlb's without drugs and the amazing part is that the engine will hold together. My 12V started out with 225hp and I without actually dino'ing it, I am around 350 or so with minimal tweaking. There is a block that you have to watch out for due to poor casting. I think it is the 53 block. The number is cast on the lower left front corner.

Back in '99-'02 I used to run up to the dyno rollers with the Cummins guys in my 7.3 powered F-450. I thought I was doing pretty good making 400RWHP, but the Cummins trucks used to blow my Ford away. They're so simple to modify with their mechanical pumps and tough bottom ends.

The cummins has always been the hot rod of diesel motors and pretty sure they always will be theres just so much more support out there for the cummins then the other 2 not that GM or Ford dont have good diesels they do GM makes a heck of a motor, ford has had some problems but there still a good motor cant wait to see the new 6.7 ford diesel.

The DMAX may be the only one of the 3 to go past the 1000HP mark. There's one or 2 of them out there.

1,008HP / 1,864 lb-ft - 5.9l Cummins - stock rear end and drivetrain

Heck, MadDog's 1000+hp engine package is a Cummins.

I saw a video of the 1000hp Duramax, it blew coolant out of the reservoir on the dyno when the injectors lifted.

Watching all these videos of new diesels makes me really want to sell my old 94 Ford IDI diesel. I for one would love a small V8 diesel 1/2 ton truck, even if it only comes with 200hp because it's so easy to add power when needed. A simple programmer will take a 50mpg 200hp daily driver to a 20mpg 400hp truck. That would be ideal.

There are 1000HP Fords, GM's, and Cummins. I have seen first gen 7.3's, 5.9, and 6.5's making 600+ hp.

horse power is fun but how much do you really need I havent have anything yet that the 6.7cummins cant handle pull a kubota excavator with it at work load it full of dirt, gravel or cinders and salt in the spreader for plow and a 9ft2in Boss plow and it handles everything great, I might get rid of the 3500 if my company will give me a deal on the 5500.

when the injectors lifted.
I wonder what massive piece of metal bent to let that happen ?, injector retainer bolt stretch ?

I recently acquired a 02 Dodge w/ the 24V 6 hole Cummins. Bone stock.
Don't quite know which direction I'm going to go with it. A least a upgrade chip.

for a chip look at a smarty for good power or a edge for all around good.

Never owned a Cummins but have had 3 PowerStrokes. I have had a Edge Juice, PDQ, and Quadzilla. I like the Quadzilla but the PDQ makes my 04 F-250 run like a scalded dog. It did 14.1 @ 98 with no other mods. I personally like Quadzilla products but there are many great ones on the market. I like the chips much better than the programmers so I can turn up or down the tune on the fly. I run 80ish HP gain when towing 10,000# or more but for day to day driving I like the 120 HP gain.

Before you add any extra power, install some gauges, especially a fuel pressure gauge. The 98.5' - 02' 24 valve's were fed by the VP44 fuel pump, which was in turned fed by the Carter lift pump. The LP likes to die all of a sudden and they'll take out the VP44 with it. A new LP will only run you a couple hundred, but it's better to go ahead and replace it with an aftermarket pump such as a FASS, Walbro, Airdog, etc anyway. Aftermarket pump's are more reliable and can flow much more fuel than a stock one can. The VP44 though, is about a $3k replacement and a FP gauge can really save that money. That's not to say they won't go on there own, but an FP gauge will make them last a lot longer.

Don't be alarmed by what I have said though, the mechanically injected 24 valve's are great engines with extreme Cummins reliability, a huge potential for additional horse power, and get great fuel mileage to boot. I'm sure you'll be quite satisfied with it.

Heres the Cummins the 3500 is mine got it real cheap has an R title but looks as good as new. and the 5500 is the companys truck but its at my house as much as the 3500. Love both of them. Normaly put grandpa in my 3500 and i run the 5500 when it snows.

Are you kidding me?
That's a good line of BS you had going on there.
Don't mean to start anything with my first post, but that "3500" is mine, and it's a 2500. The 5500 is not yours either, it is a guy's I know as well.

Actually, I'm leaning towards the Juice with the attitude monitor.

Here is some interesting reading for you all.

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/.../131913-john-deere-x749-ultimate-tractor.html

That is a topic from another member "CAT MAN". I'm positive this is the former screen name for 3500DIESEL and if you just read through that thread you will easily be able to see the similarities. He has talked exactly the same way in this thread as he has in similar ones on this forum as well as on the truck/trailer forums on Lawnsite.com.

Just thought you all would find this interesting, I can't stand a liar and a sneak.
