February 2011 Top 10 Pickup Truck Sales - PickupTrucks.com News
For all those who still think Ford is the best selling truck:
GM truck sales - 43,424
FORD truck sales - 37,549
It did because it broke the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado into two different groups (same truck). In reality, when you combine the GMC and Chevy numbers you see the real story that GM trucks are the best selling. But those Ford fans like to think they have had the best selling truck for 30+ years...Did I read that link wrong, I thought it said Ford Rank #1 for the month of February?
I am actually in Detroit. Got here yesterday at Noon. On the local news last night they were talking about how GM has its sales back on track. They specifically sited 0% financing for 72 months, great lease deals, and the fact that GMAC has significantly loosened the qualifiers for financing.
They had a financial annalist also on saying its a double edge sword for GM and the others. There is a lot of consumers waiting to buy due to the economy and this may set them up for failure. Part of the problem is gas prices this summer. Currently its $3.59 across the street from the Hotel I am in. If they buy just because they now can afford it due to the low lease rate or financing. Also giving credit to individuals that could not get financed just 2 months ago is also setting up GMAC for major problems. He called it irresponsible.

Ford sells the most trucks in January so it must mean they have the best truck, GM sells more in February so that must mean they cut the prices and have good financing so they can sell trucks to those that can't afford them.
No way those Ford numbers could have been due to under-priced fleet sales and 0% financing...
Thanks for the morning laugh as usual.
