So I was removing the spring tensioner off so could remove small roller that's looks like seal gone. Long story short bolt flew out broke my nose and left nice goose egg on chin, with small cut. I'm good got back from the ER,can't do anything it broke the cartilage, straightened call it good:laughing:

Ouch! Glad you are okay and it didn't hit your eye.

I have prescription safety glasses I wear all the time, can't really tell they are safety glasses, good thing. All things it could have ended up worse and the thing about it is knew had some tension on spring but I backed it off but still ended up not enough, once was all said and done bolt holes where 3inches apart from lining up. I thought done enough but I don't truthfully know how it went all down just remember getting hit in the face with bolt that felt like baseball bat. I was having bad day anyways and when I found that issue it got worse,I was trying to figure out how to even get the roller off. I should have stopped and started tomorrow but have sons kindergarden graduation then family coming over afterwards so I kept at it. My mistake, just had one those days. I am going to use the phone a friend call some buddies up and help get it off and new one on,cause I need to start baling this weekend the stuff I already cut can just lay there.

E tex. It could have been worse.

Sorry to hear about your nose. I'll bet that tensioner bolt will be a booger(pita) to get started threaded back into spring.

Got into the field last night for about 3 hours and cut about 4 acres. Hay is extremely thick and kept tripping the safety on the mower (JD350 sickle). Didn't seem to matter if I went faster or slower, faster or slower RPMs. Will get back into the fields after work and see how far I can get.

Check your cutter bar angle. Our old mower NH had to be set just so or hay wouldn't flow over the bar and would trip. Also if it was wet it would stick to bar and trip. We could only cut from about 11 to 6 as dew would start to fall.
