2015 Hay Season

Cat fever it took a big wrecker and a $400 bill, they tried get it out with two 100hp tractors.

Would 4wd got him out maybe before it started getting to bad,who knows.Without the front tires helping it's like an anchor,if they are not turning. I have been stuck countless times in 2wd on my place but I just pulled the 4wd lever. It's not just mud it's the sand, when pulling mower up some the ROW hills.

Well now that takes all the profit out of the job!
I nearly broke the back window on my tractor baling a field for a neighbor. I just happen to be looking back when the rock flipped up. It was walnut sized and coming fast. If the window was not there it would have hit me in the forehead.:confused2:
All I got was a tiny chip in the window. Glad your buddy got out but paying that much sucks.

So held off few days ago cause chance rain today and you guess it barely a sprinkle for a minute. We did get some cattle pastures cleaned up and I will spray them in a week or so for weeds and hoppers.

bailing hay 013.JPG We have yet to bale our first bales. its been too wet. and now I want the fescue seed to fall off the grass before its baled. That seed can be toxic to pregnant animals. All my equiptment is the old stuff. The New Holland 273 bailer is the newest piece. The M is a 1944. And last year we only had two breakdowns. A bent guard on the sickle bar mower. And sheared a pin on the bailer. We only bale about a 1000 bales per year.

Nice.
Where you are at is where I hope to be. Going to take a few years though. My wife had no idea that getting a tractor was going to take us down the road were on. I did but didn't want to tell her. It's all good, she likes cows.

"Composites are a population made up of two or more component breeds, designed to retain heterosis (hybrid vigor) in future generations without crossbreeding, and maintained like a purebreed".

So I been doing some digging around at different sites and it looks to me that the Rebel 5410 has a history with broke belts but the alligator splices solve that but not recommended running then cause of a guard it has. As for the roller have yet to find anyone else mentioning it.
My dealer told me to cut the shaft down so it will pull it in more so the gap isn't as wide. My dad suggest drilling hole in the roller so could put keepers to get to set screws this would keep the roller from moving all the way to one side
Me myself don't think I should have to alter the dang thing to keep it running in the field. What is going to eventually happen if something doesn't change is grass is going to catch fire, cause I don't know if its going to happen at the first couple bales or what. I have already dug burnt grass out of it.I don't know if should listen to the wife and spend unwonted to money getting something that isn't a PIMA or attempt to make changes that may or may not solve the issue
Would be a great baler for someone baling 100 bales or so but nothing over that a year
